Burgruine Hohennagold

We drove out of Stuttgart looking for a or two to view on a short December day. We found the ruins of Burg Hohennagold perched above the town of Nagold. It was somewhat of a pain to reach, at least for me. I must have missed a sign or something and went around the town twice. But we finally arrived and walked up to see it in the waning light. The was started around the year 1100 and passed through several owners until being destroyed (uninhabitable) towards the end of the Thirty Years War. It is still a nice walk and the views are great from the restored tower. Like many places in Germany it suffered during WWII and maybe one day it will be completely restored. The ruins of a former are embeded in a natural park. A perfect spott for the little ones and the ones that are already young for many years. You can walk through the forest, learn about nature and the itself thanks to a couple of signs (in German). The view is nice and the best: You can enjoy it even throughout CoVid19 times. Schöner Ort zum Entspannen It is a small hike. The road is wide and there are also small hiking paths, which are difficult to find. The view looks amazing on the top. Especially in autumn its more beautiful and picturesque. Car has to parked somewhere and climb. Its a short 1km path. Sehr schöne Burg , gut erhalten und gepflegt. Free ruined to visit in Nagold. It is beautiful and well preserved ruin. The hike from the park is vigorous. Good place to spent time with family/friends. Enough good panorama. Schöner Spaziergang hoch, unterschiedliche Wege flacher oder steiler - zum aussuchen. Oben ein toller Blick auf Nagold und die umliegenden Berge. Since I was travelling through his space I even did not disturbed him. He tried to may be hide and rolled away. Never disturb animals in jungle. It is there home let them live there and don’t kill them. Very serene and beautiful park. The hill is also great for a jog or run. The top gives great views of Nagold town. You can bring your kids and they can have fun too. The climb is not difficult.
