Went to see the Gala here on Nov 2024. It was a combo of companies and groups performing. While the were excellent, it was the sound and acoustics that didn't mesh well in the hall. The speakers were way too loud and was almost hurtful to the eardrums when the soprano went to his high note while performing the Phantom of the piece. My favorite was seeing the little ballerinas perform! Average Soviet era house where the acoustics are not as good but the are still worth the visit. The building looks especially impressive at night when it is lit up. Even if you don’t attend a show, the square in front of the theatre is a pleasant place to walk around and take photos. It’s centrally located and very accessible, surrounded by cafes and other important sites. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re exploring the city. A superb venue to enjoy the ballet. The staff were most helpful in making our visit as enjoyable as possible. During the intermission you can slip into a delightful cocktail cafe/bar that directly adjoins the house. If your polite the staff will wip you up your cocktails as they hear the intermission begin meaning all you need to do is take a seat and enjoy your drink. Went this evening to watch the Albanian Symphony orchestra perform Don't Cry for me Argentina, I was not looking forward to it...but it was, and they were, really good. The leader was extremely charismatic and entertaining We went to watch Madame Butterfly and the show was excellent. The ticketing system is very flawed. There is no online service for booking tickets and they do not answer emails or instagram messages. You can only reserve and pay in person. This can be difficult logistically speaking. The venue is nice and has a nearby cafe. The seats are comfortable. The Tirana is a treasure that beautifully combines architectural splendor with captivating performances.
