The Theater of Elis is is a small theater with a rich history. It is located 6 km west to Pinios Dam and 25 km north to Pyrgos. The theater was built in the 4th century BC and was renovated in Roman times. The theater has hosted a number of local performances in recent years, but is currently temporarily closed. If you arrived till here, don't miss a visit in the beautiful archeological museum of Elis, located 800 m southeast to the theater (300 north to village Archea Ilida). Old wooden amphitheatre. Needs a renovation desperately. Some of the wooden planks and stairs felt unsafe. Nevertheless the place is in the centre of an town very popular for the Olympic Games. Very impressive. Never heard of. You need to see it. Very quiet Super site. Not your typical tourist spot—perfect for fans of Greek archaeology Worth visiting if you are in the area. Easy parking mostly in the shade. Free entry. Went to watch an comedy, re-imagined. Great experience, enhanced by the surrounding ruins. It's away from populated areas and on a summer night, full August moonlight you can almost be transported back in time. Il ne reste pas grand chose du théâtre mais les fondations aident à imaginer l'endroit à l'époque. There was something special and very pleasant, blessed around the area of this theatre; tranquil and quiet, birds were flying around beautiful plants... and special. You can walk there, there is no fence. Must see. Absolutely fantastic. Πρόχειρο ξύλινο θέατρο καθυστερήσεις στην είσοδο, στην έξοδο και χωρίς παρκινγκ Very interesting theatre in the archaeological site of the city of Elis, where the Olympic Athletes were prepared before taking part in the Olympic Games! Amazingly inspiring place! Must visit or better attend theatrical performance! Fabulous place and for free Nothing much to see here The wooden one was not good. Uncomfortable and not very robust.
