Was visiting Tiszaújváros and we stopped to eat here late on a Sunday night. Super cozy and authentic “home cooked” type vibes. Great prices, great service, and great food. Can’t recommend this place enough. They do have an English menu. I ate a wiener schnitzel, was bigger then expected but too thin, therefore somewhere it was dry as stone, but this was my only problem. The bartender is helpful and kind, the decoration is good, the sight could be better. This is very likely the best restaurant East of Budapest. The atmosphere is cozy, sophisticated, the staff is friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. The owners take care of every little detail, such as buying coffee at auctions to serve the best, or getting the exactly right milk from Poland... We were searching for delicious, homemade Hungarian national cuisine, and this restaurant had great reviews, so we went off the main road to try it—and it was absolutely worth it. The food is truly home-style and very tasty. We ordered goulash served in bread (by the way, any soup can be served in bread, but this is only mentioned in the Hungarian menu, not the English one), beef in wine with dumplings, and goose breast with knedliky. The meat was incredibly tender, and the flavors of the dishes were fantastic. The portions are large, so keep that in mind. They also offer homemade cakes, cheesecakes, and pies, but we were too full for dessert. The service was excellent, even though the owner doesn’t speak English (but they do have an English menu). The food came out quickly. The interior is simple and pleasant, and everything is spotlessly clean. We paid around €35 for a full meal for two. I highly recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
