Wonderful museum. When we went there were some stalls and events going on which really brought it to life (2021-12-11). The was exquisite and there was a man called Paul there doing the parking who gave such a friendly welcome! Really recommend! Edit (2022-09-29): I came back here more recently, around a year later, to see the D-Day Darlings perform and had another wonderful day. Very informative about the role of Biggins Hill Air base during the World wars and shares intimate stories about both male and female fighters during the wars. I know I learnt a lot from just being there and if you enjoy fighter before they became jets, then this is the place for you. Nice for a family day out, no regrets for sure, as both grown ups and kids will learn a whole lot from the visit. Visited this on a Saturday afternoon, it was very quiet but still plenty of staff/volunteers around who were very friendly and welcoming. The flying VR experience is good fun and quite challenging! A very interesting, informative, and moving set of exhibitions - a and affordable at £6.50 each if you are in the area. This is a small but very museum, and the Chapel is particularly visiting. The thing I liked the most was that it concentrated on the military pilots, the military ground crew, and the civilians who lived nearby - it was not just a run of the mill military but a statement of social during WW2.
