The is amazing, my partner and I stayed here for a short break, we have stayed here before so we knew what it was like. The rooms were immaculate, very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food was great! A huge amount to choose from. The pool was including the sauna. I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Lovely racecourse, went as an owner and the horse won by an inch (photo)so made the day better, pretty surroundings as you will see by the photos. This is a review of two halves. We were here for a family do this weekend. The event we attended was great. The staff were excellent: welcoming, friendly and attentive. The location is idyllic and the parking is easy (we arrived a day before the race). Our double room was fine, everything was clean and worked - but we were very disappointed by the en suite bathroom. This is now the second half of our review. Considering this is a luxury we felt our bathroom was far from luxurious. It was functional at best. We were so surprised to find that there was no bathtub - especially as we had driven 6 long hours through Friday traffic to reach the - with just a functional shower instead. There was a single low-level sink with barely room to place any toiletries of our own. We called down to reception to request a room change but this was not able to be accommodated. On closer inspection the en suite had numerous emergency pull cords and support bars- obviously for guests with mobility issues - although we had not requested this type of bathroom. We also had to ring down to request toilet paper for the bathroom. Which guest wants to do that when you’re booked in at a luxury (and paying a premium for the privilege)? So - in conclusion: the staff were great, the location was lovely - but - a massive thumbs down for no bathtub and having to ask for loo rolls. Not worthy of a high-end in our opinion. We can’t go more than 2 stars on this one.
