Landed 20 + Roach, Bream Skimmers and Carp of various sizes in that time, learning the art of pole fishing. Coffee & tea from the little cafe, a visit to the tackle to sort him out some decent kit. A very pleasant morning and one very happy grandson. However, much of the site is geared towards match fishing, and unfortunately, that’s where the best water is. The issue is that match schedules aren't advertised or posted clearly, so planning a casual visit around them is a gamble—sometimes you’ll miss out on the main entirely due to back-to-back matches. Some of the platforms are in poor condition, and water levels are noticeably low in places. The on-site allows only two people in at a time, but if you miss the small sign, you can expect a stern telling-off. Staff aren't particularly friendly, and there's an oddly rigid attitude around unposted rules—especially with mat sizing. We brought a large but foldable mat, and despite its size being more than adequate, it was dismissed as unsuitable simply because it was folded. It was eventually allowed, but only with a condescending comment and reluctance. Overall, if you’re looking for a quiet, laid-back day of fishing, this may not be the right venue. Between the awkward atmosphere, unclear match access, and unwelcoming staff, it’s a place with potential—but not one I’ll be rushing back to. place to fish with spacious well built swims, lovley views, facilities amd staff.. not to forget the beautiful fish Carp, Big pond all the way. Medium pond is very busy. By far the best fishery I’ve ever been too, nights with 12 fish caught, guys that are running the lake, the team go above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly, made me and my wife feel comfortable with a few extra perks, tackle and also a little cafe.
