One of the Best Places To Visits in Fano Adriano This national park is highly recommended for nature lovers and hikers seeking an authentic Italian experience. Be prepared for challenging trails and potentially narrow roads, but the stunning scenery and peaceful atmosphere are well worth the effort. Check ski lift status before visiting in winter. Consider taking the gondola to skip the initial ascent. Bring plenty of water and snacks for hikes. Be aware that some roads are narrow. Weekdays and the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) will likely be less crowded than summer weekends. "MIND BLOWING this park in central Italy-Abruzzo was so beautiful..miles of road without seeing a soul. We felt completely immersed and in awe of the magnificent mountains and valleys, ancient hilltop towns." "Amazing place and national park of Italy in the Appennini!! Awesome views and nature!! The environment is stunning and the mountains incredible!!" "This park is amazing and definitely worth a visit! To quickly get higher up, you can skip the beginning ascent by taking a gondola... Here, the trails are endless and beautiful." "Very beautiful mountain area with the highest peak - Gran Sasso - in the Abruzzen. A lot of nice small villages along the way with small old stone houses, tiny plazas and real good food from local producers." "What an adventure! Gorgeous views and challenging trek. Surrounded by endless parklands. Such a different way to experience Italy." Amazing place and national park of Italy in the Appennini!! Awesome views and nature!! The environment is stunning and the mountains incredible!! There is a walking adventurous track that takes to the top of Gran Sasso from Campo Imperatore with a 6km hard climbing track!! The view from the top is something unique!! 💪👍🇮🇹 Amazing and beautiful. Stunning even if you stay at the bottom and even more so if you go the 30 minute hike up to the next Hut. What an adventure! Gorgeous views and challenging trek. Surrounded by endless parklands. Such a different way to experience Italy. Was with a group hike to Pizzo Cefalone (2.533m). Took approximately 4.5 hours to ascend and return with largely inexperienced hikers (including myself). Skilifts closed. You cannot ski here as use to be. The place look abandoned. It is a shame, as most of those people who lives and works there have been trying their best to keep this magnificent place alive! It use to be a place better than a 5 stars luxury but my disappointment doesn't allows me to give more than one star. Campo Impreratore out of this world. If you are ever in Abruzzo you have to go there. It's a very special place with spectacular scenery and an experience you will share with many. This park is amazing and definitely worth a visit! To quickly get higher up, you can skip the beginning ascent by taking a gondola (not expensive at all, maybe €15 round trip if I remember correctly). Here, the trails are endless and beautiful. I saw mountain goats grazing the grass. Bring lots of water and snacks, and be prepared for steep sections. Gran Sasso is a must see! Very beautiful mountain area with the highest peak - Gran Sasso - in the Abruzzen. A lot of nice small villages along the way with small old stone houses, tiny plazas and real good food from local producers. Some of the roads are not made for bigger cars though. Stay on the "main" roads and don't take short cuts. Definatly have to come back, there is too much to explore. MIND BLOWING this park in central Italy-Abruzzo was so beautiful..miles of road without seeing a soul. We felt completely immersed and in awe of the magnificent mountains and valleys, ancient hilltop towns. Giving popular Tuscany a run for its money. We will be back Abruzzo you haven't disappointed. I almost want to keep this special part of Italy a secret as it's too good to spoil with bus loads if tourists sprawling the tiny towns and natural parks! We saw a wolf in the midst of cows and horses, shepherds herding their sheep flocks and witnessed the sun set over the majestic mountain tops. It a been a great day !! To see the beauty of nature in the mountains and the smog along the entire Coastline.
