It's a bit sad to see so many structures boarded up and crumbling down. But well worth a visit, especially if you are interested in farm buildings from passed generations, or if you enjoy a quiet, peaceful stroll. A well preserved abbey, with nice frescos inside the church where you can feel a spiritual quietness. It is located a few km away from the more famous Chiaravalle abbey, it's worth to drive a little more to visit both places on the same day-trip :-) The church is closed 12:30 - 2:30 pm. Ok Incredible collection of abandoned cascine nearby I had been here for my 8 days retreat in this Abbey in 2006. I was from HK and had just completed my Catholic Religious Study. It is an important place for my spiritual growth. I don’t know Italian but I can feel the presence of God through the compassion of the nuns in this Abbey. I remembered I left a lot of my grateful tears in this wonderful place. Amazing A beautiful small Jewel to discover in Milan suburbs. A lovely stroll from San Giuliano Milanese to the Abbey. Very green and shady. Not crowded, so quiet and pleasant. I went under the station underpass to get there. No public conveniences nor bars along the way but plenty on returning to San Giuliano Milanese.
