Nice walk among the reeds. Not too many birds. Awesome wooden trail above the water. You can watch the birds on the lake from outposts, and walk in the ppl tall reed "field". You can accsess the trail on a from the near port, the guy tells you interesting details about the surrounding birds. The information cards are written during the trip in Engilsh too. The tour starts from Fűzfa kikötő (Willow Dock) in Poroszló. It is 5-minute trip by motor to get to the island where the actual trail starts. You can do some bird and wild life watching, there are some look-out towers and a small rest area. Overall it is a pretty good experience, and good value for money. The tour lasts around 60-90 minutes depending on your pace. Short boatride (10 minutes) to get to the boardwalk. Boatrides are going very frequent both ways, based on demand. We didn’t even have to wait at all. Worth a visit. You can easily spend 1,5 hour in total (including rides) Short boatride (10 minutes) to get to the boardwalk. Very well-organized, clean and neat place. We had a very polite driver for the who spoke perfectly English and made sure to keep us informed among Hungarian tourists. At the harbor you can buy drinks and ice cream, on the island there is picnic areas. Suitable for families with kids and those who have difficulties walking. That was a great idea to create a place like this where we can be so close to the nature. Also as a big plus, dogs are welcome there without any extra price. However I would recommend to take only very well socialized dogs there. A neatly maintained boardwalk among the reeds with a number of resting spots. In addition to the birds, we saw a turtle, plenty of various frogs, and even a fox pup. A great walk, especially if you avoid the midday sun as most of the path is not shady. It could do with maintenance but is still in okay condition. The ferrymen’s knowledge of the lake and its flora and fauna is really impressive, do ask them questions if you want to know something. The bird watches are great and worth taking binoculars. I would not recommend with unsteady toddlers as the safety barriers would not keep them from tripping in (see other people’s pictures), so it could make the experience quite stressful. This is such a hidden gem! You take a ride to the walkpath. From there you walk the 1.5km path that includes 2 birdwatch houses and a lookout tower. The staff is very friendly! We had a lovely few hours here, even though the blurb says it takes an hour + half. It was nice to approach in a boat, and when we arrived we almost immediately saw a pair of bearded tits on the boardwalk! Lots of good birding, although to be fair we had the whole place to ourselves for most of the time we were there. I imagine in midsummer it would be hot in the middle of the day - not much shade out of the hides and the picnic spot. Really lovely peaceful visit to revive the spirits, although vastly improved by taking binoculars. We just turned up and were taken out in the boat, there’s a phone number to call when you’re ready to go back - this is mid Sept, don’t know what it’s like in high season. Quiet, beautiful and a lot of nature to see. Worth the visit!!
