So, we were divided into two groups. There were 33 people in our group. The was in German but our guide would speak English and we were encouraged to ask any questions if we had any. The lasted 75 mins. Sadly, this cannot accommodate wheelchairs. Most of our time was spent underground. No one had any challenges with confined space. It was all good. There was lots of parking space and there was a festival where everyone could see what life has back in history. I think this festival is held once a year. Toilets are available. There is a and other exhibitions one can pay to see. We enjoyed it. A must visit if you are around Dillenburg. A climb to the top is worth it since you can see multiple villages and towns from up there. The was just okay, but the Economic was very interesting Nett anzusehen, allerdings war um den Turm herum alles abgesperrt und durch Baustellen sehr chaotisch, schade. For people with a healthy fascination for this is a nice place. Specially when you come from the Netherlands where a part of Holland here begun. Only a bit to early in the season so everything was closed. But still nice to visit. Very nice castle....they have guide...nice restoraunt and good beer... Been there many times. Dillenburg is my home. Spend many afternoons at the wilhelmsturm, overlooking the entire town. I could even see my omas house. Sure miss it. The has a beautiful view of the nearby area. It is actually rebuild copy on the ruins of the older one. Although the casemates (underground system) are preserved well and look like in the ancient times. We were lucky to visit them although it is better to check the exact time when the over there starts. As for me it was very interesting and informative trip completely worth visiting it. Incredible beautiful. Cant imagine how people were fighting and war making. On that ages. Just imagine to get on top with only metall swords. It’s high position also bings amazing views on a beautiful landscape and historical town Dillenburg. In summer time they organize guided tours into the tunnels leading from the down to the town - quite unusual experience! I found this super interesting on top of the hill in Dillenburg. This town is so peaceful and local people are so kind and friendly to foreigners. I sat on the bench and look at the fountain on the town and listen to bird song. That was amazing experience that I've ever had. Ziemlich cool, wir waren am 2. Tag nach der Winterpause da. Schön angelegt, aber man kann leider nicht ganz hoch und nur bis 3/4 des Turm auf ein kleines balkönchen. Quiet historical landmark site. Schöner Turm mit guter Aussicht, Leider zZ eine Baustelle direkt am Turm, das sieht nicht so schön aus Wilhelmsturm in Dillenburg, Germany is a fascinating place if you are into the of the Nassau family or fortification techniques in the area. The whole place looks impressive from a distance. The is a relatively new addition, the old was mostly lost in a fire, but there are still visible remnants of the old fort. This includes the old prison. There is also a statue of Willem of Orange-Nassau, probably the most famous inhabitant of the old castle. The museums associated with this place are the and located at a lower level, Villa Grün. The in the is on four different floors which can be reached via a steep, winding staircase. The second and fourth floor grant access to outside, so you can enjoy the spectacular views of the area. Every room has folding chairs if you need to catch your breath. The top floor doubles as a conference space and has regular chairs. The is not wheelchair accessible and neither is the Villa, as far as I could tell. Inside the various rooms on each floor, you'll find some info and artifacts about the 16th, 17th, and 18th century Nassau family. Everything is explained in both German and Dutch. You can also check out a videos in multiple languages and displays on the various stages of the fort's history. All in all, there isn't that much to see (compared to, for instance, the Prinsenhof in Delft, NL). The price of admission, however, is low, so it's an experience to just go there and learn a little bit more about the of the area and the people who lived there. Well-worth a visit in my opinion. I didn't check out the Kazematten, which is a guided at an additional (low) price. The outside area is free of charge, where you can check out some more interesting information about the of the place. The in the is closed for lunch (1 pm - 2 pm) and is closed for the winter (November - April). The has no restroom, but if you have a ticket for the tower, you can use the facilities in the Villa. Parking is a bit of an issue, as there are only a few spaces right next to the tower. Your main option is to park at a lower level. I suggest to first check on top and then go below if there is no parking available. But you have to handle the pretty steep driveway. A tip: find your way across the valley for a spectacular view from Adolfshöhe. It's a steep climb, but worth it for the nice picture, that is: weather permitting.
