Stayed for two nights in the BBII room, with large bathroom and kitchenette. The design was well kept and the thick walls kept all light out at night. One really needs a lamp to read, a bit more light at the table could have been helpful. Smaak fridge, water boiler and coffeemaker in the kitchen. Microwave aswell, no cooking gear. But cups and plates for two. Linnen and towels all included. Good bed. Kitchen and bathroom are in an open space without too much ventilation, so do not eat too many onions before staying here. Breakfast is good, standard items, but fresh and with friendly service. No special vegan options, but cheese is there. The restaurant is open till 1800, so do not count in it for dinner. During our first evening they were cutting the grass on top of the which was extremely noisy. Sound echoing between the walls of the fortress. The leave and grass blower the next day was again very noisy, but less loud than two grass cutters working for about 2 hours. Location is good for hiking and biking and a visit to the Loevestein castle. We camped there one night with tent. The fort is really nice and you can explore it fully. The service was friendly and the breakfast very nice. The only bad thing was that the wifi only existed in the restaurant, not on the campingsite. The washroom and toilets are clean. We stayed in their "Bunker room". It is an adventure the least to say! The entrance is low, definitely not for people with disabilities, the rest is utilitarian, but well designed. The facilities are in the main fortress, very good and clean with a military feel, but very comfortable. The restaurant looks nice and the rest of the accommodation is much more mainstream, some rooms some glamping pods, with some high end luxury suites. For one night the bunker is a great fun for kids and adults alike! We spent two nights at this peaceful location, surrounded by nature where only the sound of geese breaks the silence. The historic is a real museum that fascinates especially the children. The restaurant combines vintage charm with modern touches, serving tasty food and offering warm, friendly service. We stayed in the “KONING” apartment—spacious, luxurious, and ideal for groups. Part of a former military barracks with three connectable apartments, it’s perfect for events, retreats, or team-building. The property also has charming areas for private events and ceremonies. We enjoyed the private hot tub, evening campfire, and the green, well-kept surroundings. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from daily routine, enjoy time for yourself, and explore the area by bike. The property is undergoing exciting renovations and also offers camping with shared facilities. A unique blend of history, nature, and comfort—highly recommended. Have a look for yourself and you won’t regret it! We booked Wachthuisje - Dome. A nice idea but in practice not so handy : the distance to sanitairy facilities is way too long, certainly in the dark at night. We also are of the opinion that the background noise is overwhelming, motorways, diesel powered vessels etc make an uncomfortable night. Had a really good time at the fort!! Really nicely decorated rooms that were super clean and really gave a vintage vibe. The restaurant was beautiful with nice staff (and really good food). Definetly will be back :) Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
