Upon entering the premises, one can get the feeling of walking around the soil, watching the Vikings live. They have people dressed as the Vikings, adult Vikings, children and so on. They have created the village with convincing landscapes compelling the visitors to imagine the Vikings lifestyle and more. They have invested lot of time and effort to exhibit authenticity worth the admiration. It was worth the drive! Vikingabyn Storholmen, near Norrtälje, really takes you back to the age. Walking through the village feels like stepping into history, with traditional houses, clothes, and crafts that bring the past to life. Such a cool and unique experience! Perfect 2.5hrs day out, the kids loved the boat ride as well as the stories. Great volunteers. Will be back This is really nice place for short visit. There was no one so we had really calm and chill visit. Oak forest nearby is really awesome. Nice to visit it too Wonderfully located right on the water. Genuine feeling and super friendly staff which are actually all volunteers. I was there for the Cultural festival and it was chilled out and relaxed with great music. Even though there might not be an event its still worth a visit because of the authenticity. Kids have space to run around exploring nature. Don't forget to bring swimming gear if the weather is nice since there is a lovely beach right next to the village. This is a really nice place with lots of kind people and a very warm atmosphere. Great for children and families! You can dive into the the way of living in a small village. Bake your own little bread, create some felt balls, twist a bracelet or learn something about runes - the villagers will show you how. When the horn is blown - be sure to look what's going on because probably there will be some action and you can learn something about sagas or ancient music. The highlight is a trip on the lake with a rebuilt boat - don't miss this, it's a lot of fun (and a little chaotic maybe). It's an international atmosphere and you will hear different languages here besides Swedish. The villagers keeping everything alive are volunteers from all over the world. A great place to be during summer - don't miss this. Highly recommend visiting! This felt like stepping back in time. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. We had an excellent day here learning and exploring. We were not able to do the boat ride as it was very windy but everything else was perfect.
