Outstanding selection, taste and portion size. Staff is always friendly and the location is unbeatable. Price per scoop, however, increased over 11% since last year. Perfect place to have coffee and cake in traditional German ambient. Cake pieces are big and delicious. One of my favorite cafes in Seligenstadt. I visited it a few times and must say that the atmosphere is friendly, service is excellent and you always served fast. If you order a coffee you‘ll get a cool print on it. On photo you see Florentiner Kekse. It was very delicious. I am sure everything there is delicious because homemade. Next time will definitely try something new. And yes, if you sit inside, you will enjoy looking at a huge shelf with lots of antique coffee mills. Looks like a museum. Highly recommend to visit this place. Nice spot for tourists. Very tasty cakes! Price a little bit high. Was there a few days ago and must have caught the servers on a bad day as the servicer was slow and not freindly. The price for drinks was, I found high, a .7 bottle of mineral water over seven euros (€7,10). I discovered the café by chance while walking. It turned into my favorite cafe when I was in town. Cakes are fresh and the coffee is just delicious. 5 stars and more... I strongly recommend to avoid this place. Very bad service. Waiters are very unfriendly and poorly trained. We were with small child and a waiter told us that the restaurant is closed and we could not take a seat (20:05). But the restaurant is open till 21:00?! The only option she recommended to take ice with us. We were waiting in the line when waiter accepted the order from another people(20:08). It was after she told us that the restaurant is closed. :( It was just the starting of the bad experience. We bought ice creams (21+ euro) and took a seat at the free table to finish our ice scream. Other customers were sitting on other tables. The waiter came to us several times and tried to push us go away…. We left the place 10 minutes after (20:20). The ice was not good, the fruits were frozen. So the worst experience ever. I’ve shared my concerns with the manager in the restaurant. Sadly, I was able to determine if this was the place I had ice at, by the reviews of rude service. I had the most delicious cone of maracuja ice here while visiting with my daughters one Summer. So on a return visit to the charming town, I made a point to stop by again. There can always be a bit of tension when ordering ice in a line in Germany. I was never sure what the cause for this was. I assumed it was just the anxiousness of staff and wanting to serve customers quickly. This time around there was definitely not a great vibe at this place. It was late March and not as busy as when I’d visited in Summer. I popped upstairs to use the restroom while my family ordered what they wanted. I think only my son in law ordered a small cup for my three year old grandson. I missed what happened, but my daughter made some comment about him not being allowed to eat the ice inside. It was such a turn off, no one else had bothered to order anything. As I said, there was not much of a line, and I am quick to order a cone of some sort. Another lady behind our group seemed put out and got ahead in the line, ordering some rather elaborate multi flavored items. That was a little annoying as my order was going to be a quick one. The only thing I did to slow anything down was to ask my daughter what Waldmeister flavor was. The server responded that it was particularly German and shoved a sample at me in such an obviously rude way, that I took it and threw the unrequested sample in the trash. I got my cone and got out of there. Still trying to decide if the rudeness is worth putting up with. The ice is excellent. The treatment was clearly and blatantly prejudice. Very off-putting. Ice should be a happy experience. My grandson, by the way is German, so he was not spared the rudeness. So maybe just rudeness and not prejudice.
