An amazing place. The energy and peacefulness of it cannot be expressed by any photograph. The is excellent, modern style and almost empty. It's a pleadure to its cool interior, to know much of the Celtic culture, and then to go out into the sun and around the tomb hill. There are marked places where the warriors and the family were found. We just lay on the grass and watched the clouds running by. A wonderful experience. There is a cafe on the ground floor. Don't miss the second floor with the panaramic view and the digital view screen which explains the archeological findings. Interesting to visit and learn about the Celts, to see artifacts. I love the idea of the big screen that shows a short movie about the tomb, the museum, and the Celts. Good with an extremely expensive cafeteria! Lot's of scenic places to nearby as well. Convenient parking Great views! The history of the about the Celts is interesting, just a pity that not all is translated. The view is beautiful, one of the Tuscany looking places of Germany. The Glauberg is a very special place that was already inhabited by humans in the Neolithic Age. There are finds from three Celtic tombs of the 5th century BC. Also the statue of a Celtic ruler is unique and is considered worldwide as a scientific sensation. This museum, opened in 2011, is part of the Celtic world on Glauberg, which also contains a research center and a large archaeological park. The park has a reconstructed burial mound, mysterious wall ditch systems and weir systems from the early Celtic era. The monuments from other historical periods can be found on the Glauberg Plateau. Here you can immerse yourself in a world that was created 2500 years ago by Celtic ancestors. It's quite small, but must see for all interested in Celtic culture. Only the has a cost. The history of the ancient Celts and subsequent medieval population, including a world unique find, can be learned along the via plaques. As someone who grew up in a Celtic area I found it fascinating to discover a Celtic community in Germany. The was interesting and well presented and we enjoyed the up the hill to see the actual site of the settlement. The cafe was good too. The only downside was that there were card machines but they wouldn't accept either Visa or MasterCard. We did have a multicurrentacy card set to Euros which should have been accepted. Fortunately we scraped together enough cash for entry, coffee and cake. Absolutely loved Keltenwelt am Glauberg. We went on an icy November morning, when everything was coated in frost, and it was stunning. The inside was really immersive, and had an easy-to-use system for English translations of all of the displays. The staff working didn't speak much English, but were very kind and helpful. The ruins were stunning, as was the viewing room that looked out at the burial mound. We then hiked up the hill and explored the old wall ruins, stepping back in time. I'd love to go again, and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Fantastic site! First settled on 7000 years ago, amazing artefacts and explanations in German, French & English everywhere.
