Very nice place with beautiful views to the nature. Additionally, this is perfect for plane spotting Historical landmark with bathrooms and picnic area as well as a camping shelter. Great place for a walk including beach and forest. Great place to walk and visit. Go to the sea to have a swim. Fantastic place during warm weather. The fort has an amazing view over the water. Access is not the best for wheel chairs etc. thou. Highly recomended for people with interest in history, military, concrete structures etc. Great place, but right under the airport take-off trail... One time it can be super silent, the other just bursting off jet engines ... Interesting place for a walk. The fort itself is probably more practical than pretty, but worth a stroll. Nearby beach and forest are pretty. Kongelundsfortet, formerly known as Kongelunds Battery, is a historically rich destination that dates back to its construction as a coastal battery between 1914 and 1916. Its primary function was to protect the minefields laid in Køge Bay during wartime, preventing enemy naval forces from operating in these waters. Today, Kongelundsfortet is a beautiful, clean, and well-maintained site that offers stunning views of the Baltic Sea. Visitors can enjoy modern amenities, including restrooms and picnic areas, making it perfect for a leisurely day out. The proximity to a nature reserve adds to its charm, offering opportunities for nature walks and wildlife observation. The area is well-urbanized, featuring excellent access, ample parking, and convenient bus stops. The nearby forest and beach enhance the appeal, providing diverse recreational options. Additionally, the region offers horse riding activities, perfect for those looking to explore the scenic landscape on horseback. Kongelundsfortet is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, combining historical significance with natural beauty and modern conveniences.
