Monument is in its element and the contrast between man made stone work and the nature. Authentic and a kind of discovery. There are two new sections that are truly worth it, place and the archaeological site is amazing. No shop and no cafe if you expect something like that, make sure to follow the small path by the fence of the site and you will be led in a small meadow and a bridge where an ancient river (now swamp) is, and flat for a small stroll before you leave. Amazing full of lots and lots of great exhibits showcasing Greek history in a clean and spacious setting. There are some areas where they don't want you to take pictures, but I can respect that. You can clearly see on some of the pieces where they filled in the missing parts just so that you can get an idea of what the complete piece would look like. Whereas some were left as-is so you could see what was left after invaders damaged and damaged the land. The place is amazing by itself, a lot of really nicely preserved artifacts and stelae, but the staff is super hostile and makes you feel unwanted. The only nic lady was at the cash register, then another 2 or 3 were cruising the museum, "protecting" it; one of them started shoutung at me for taking photos - ok I get it, no photos. But then she was following us around like rogue dogs and in the second and third room people were taking photos all over and she was looking at them and I just didn't get the point. Afterwards at the outer temple ruins, the guard tore apart our tickets eventhough I asked him not to cause I wanna keep them as souvenirs. "No lady, must check you!" OMG, there were 6 of us at the place, 4 was our family, yea you really need to make sure we don't enter without tickets. So the staff spoiled the whole event, which again, is a and really well preserved site and is well worth visiting. Tickets 6€ adults and free for young under 25 if they are from EU. Easy access to the and the temple, really nice to see there is a path to take that goes through the temple. A lovely little cafe to get something to drink. It is really sad that there is no clear indication of the temple, not well promoted in my opinion. Like all the monuments in Greece, talk less about the stones of the monuments and more about the history and the legends. It is important to know about the structure but people are inspired about the actual history and the stories. This is certainly not the Acropolis with its Parthenon or the Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounio, but in its own way it is a very place - the Temple of Artemis.
