It is said to be the best in Greece. I had heard its name before, but I was a bit hesitant when purchasing my ticket. I traveled from Athens to Amsterdam, which took 3 hours and 40 minutes. It was truly a very comfortable journey. I’ve come to the conclusion that this is an I can consider for my future travels. If you’re looking for a comfortable journey, you can choose it as well. Highly recommended! I have been a happy customer so far with the ups and downs of any airlines. However recently I had to renew my Gold tier status as a frequent flyer and Aegean showed no flexibility at all in extending the period for a few days until my next trip. This is utterly disappointing as I've been a frequent flyer customer with them since 2013. I will now look to spend my time/effort/resources elsewhere. Shame. This surprised me. It was the first time I fly with them. The staff at the gate were very kind and professional. My ticket included a carry on and one personal item (backpack); had no issues there. Evrything went smoothly. Onboard the hostesses were great, we were offered two choices for the meal, and a wide variety of beverage (had greek white wine, tasty!). My connection to Beirut got cancelled, the customer in Athens Airport airlines' agent was incredibly helfpul ! He arranged accommodation for me in a 5 stat hotel in Athens and booked me first back the next day; I paid nothing extra. I will definitelt fly again with them, star alliance member after all. Great experience! I was surprised how nice this was. The seats were spacious and the crew was exceptional. They gave a snack on board. They left on time and it was a comfortable and smooth flight. Check in process was easy. What else could you want? Holy cow, this is amazing! This is probably the 3rd best in Europe! The is incredible, everybody had a sole on their faces, they didn’t make any delays, and the food was very good! The Greek wine they gave us was out of this world! On New Year’s Day, they gave us an orange pie, and that was the best thing I’ve ever tasted on an airplane! It was so good! Congratulations Aegean! Was skeptical about booking with them as I hadn't heard of them before however my gf is greek and uses them regularly and thought why not was the only option I had and I'm glad that I did couldn't ask for a better airline. Punctual, clean plane, WiFi, charging ports, well groomed staff polite, and communicate with passengers effectively regarding regular location and time updates, pilots are world class, flying out was the smoothest landing I've encourted have been to Turkey, Spain, USA, Ireland, London, Tunisia and Morroco without a shadow of a doubt that was the smoothest landing I've ever experienced coming back I had issues checking in as the app wasn't working they fixed it straight away, also my luggage got sent through the Self desk in Athens without the tag check in staff resolved it for me and informed me not to worry as they'd deal with it, was pleased when I seen that the baggage was located and sorted in my flights cart was relieved as I had several gifts worth over £100, would definitely recommend them will be rebookig with them when I back out in the summer, times are a bit inconvenient to and from Edinburgh every few days and only 1 service, hope that they expend into Scotland more, would be great if they did more regularly flights The was terrible flying from Rome. From the bag check folks casually showing up 45 min late (the 8kg carry on limit basically ensures that you have to check your carry on suitcase, total 75 euro for 1 10 kg bag round trip) to the gate change across the airport with no notice at the gate, text, email, or web, we had to run from a36 to the other end of FCO airport at a73. I have never had a more stressful and annoying travel experience and I am a frequent flyer. Arrived 3h early and nearly missed my flight. Update: The return from Athens was ok, other than absurdly baggage policy and cramped seats. It seems that Rome (FCO) airport is the primary problem. They don't provide gate information until shortly before takeoff at it is very disorganized. Flying United to SFO, I had my gate info at 10AM but it wasn't published on the board at the airport until 1h before takeoff even though it was know. If you have to fly from FCO, stay alert and watch the boards regularly to avoid problems. Worse airline: constantly late, a round trip from Athens to Chania (40 minutes) cost $500 and the plane was dirty; the tray table was broken, I spilled orange juice all over myself. The attendant yelled at me for getting up during the and asking to pass with my carryon to change my clothes. Didn’t even give me napkins or a wipe to clean my seat. Thankfully the passengers were understanding and helped me. Never again. Wrote a complaint and never heard back.
