Just a classic burger joint, it can't get any more traditional to this fast food place. We stopped on our way to Frankfurt, eat some chilli cheese puffs and actually they were very good. It was a quick stop, but the place is clean, also we had our dogs and the parking area has lots of green for them. The first Burger King I visited. The result is better to go to McDonalds. The potatoes were very salty, and the employee who gave me the order was completely unfriendly and not polite. Wings and the mozzarella burger were delicious!!! They don't have this in California It's great that BK offers nice reusable cups and a variety of vegetarian meals. Thank you, I really appreciate this change, a nice move for the environment. Also the reason why we made our stop here instead of McDonald's on our road trip today. The temperature inside the restaurant was freezing when we were dining here today though. Just wondering if the management is aware of that? It'd be counterproductive to your efforts to be more green to cool unnecessarily, not to mention the extra costs. Just a thought. We have waited about 40’ to get our order, bit because the staff was not fast or willing to do their best, but because they were terribly understaffed. Here is a top management and cost cutting problem. To be avoided, not just for the bad experience but also for the social consequences Times are hard. The world is spiraling towards the unknown. Stability is a rare commodity. There are only a few things that keep us on the straight and narrow. The smile of a child, a ray of Sunlight between the clouds, or a chunky tax refund at the end of the year. My companion and I stumbled upon one of these havens of stability. On the way to Frankfurt we randomly stopped at the Aral Raststätte to find a newly renovated Burger King. We parked right in front of the entrance and walked in. We were welcomed as royalty with the haut du chapeau of amenities. Silicon Valley’s finest in ordering. Touch screens galore and in each one of these devices attractive offers and a plethora of dipping options to be found. As it was early in the day I needed something small but effective. I went for the Whopper Jr. menu with onion rings and a coke. Of course, I indulged in the chipotle sauce as I felt I deserved it after a long drive. My companion had a single cheeseburger. His modesty has always been an inspiration. We could see the number of our order immediately. The number flashed brightly on 4K HD display above the counter. The numbers were moving suspiciously fast. We could see the team working in sync like a seasoned jazz quartet, each one charged with a different task. And then, just like that, there it was in that all too familiar brown paper bag. We sat at the bar and eagerly unwrapped our burgers. The smell was intoxicating. The flavor familiar/sweet like a first kiss on the emergency stairwell of the old cinema. The burger was small but wholesome. The onion rings however were a bit soggy. Luckily the chipotle sauce resuscitated the onion rings back to life. The coke was well fizzed and rejuvenating. My companion devoured his cheeseburger in silence trying to unpack the complexity of this culinary delight. Then, like waking up from a daydream it was over. We returned our trays and made our way back to the tempestuous world outside. “Wait” I said to my companion as I grabbed his arm. “This can’t be the way this ends”. We ran back in, but instead of going to the fancy machine; I wanted to talk to a real person. His name was Anuj, a second generation Pakistani. Back in Karachi his father was a doctor but here he’s working the counter at Aldi. I asked for 2 coffees to go. He recommended the Cafe Crema which was on special offer for 1€ curtesy of the King. We bid Anuj farewell and stepped outside. Before entering the car I looked up to the sky. An elephant shaped cloud was moving aside to let a ray of sun shine through. As I looked up I whispered “thank you! thank you god. Thank you Burgerking!”. The familiarity of the meal and my new found friendship with Anuj filled me with hope. Hope for our future. The future of humanity. At the end of the day all we have left is each other. Very nice place and clean. Food is made to Order - it means always fresh. Good job guys! 👍 Takes 1h for 2 sandwiches, half raw/uncooked and cold! 3 employees looking like headless chickens at a screen, managing only 3 orders in 1 hour! Please hire a damn manager for this place..it's disrespectful and sad to watch how no one knows what to do in there and how damn slow they move without a care that the place is full of people waiting for their order!
