Arrived on Friday, a quiet musically but Gene was the most amazing host. Sang, played & story told all evening for us. Had a fabulous night. Decided to stay for Saturday and a whole plethora of musicians played and sang the away. Highly recommend a nights stay at Gene's bar, Andersons Thatched Pub. Weds & Saturday are the best music nights. Returned for the Xmas Party at the pub. Excellent night. A rare gem of an Irish pub. Hopefully we can hold onto the likes of Andersons. Live trad, a welcoming sitting room vibe. Great Guinness. Best pub I have ever been in, the pub was so cosy friendly and Gene the manager was a proper character. He couldn't do enough for us. We had a sing song with the local and omg Gene can play and sing anything bless him he is amazing . Oh it's 10 euros to stay in your campervan on his carpark . The pub doesn't open until 8 to 8.30 but want a night, the locals are amazing and so friendly. I wish I could of stayed the whole holiday. Oh and we even got 2 of his fresh eggs as a treat for breakfast . What a guy and what a pub 👏 thank you Gene and locals for giving us an amazing night. It's now 2025 we have just been back and it's still as wonderful as last time , Gene is still going strong and still gave us a great singing and playing his music, oh and we enjoyed our eggs again bless him ❤️ Stayed over in motorhome here. Spent the evening in the pub, great music and atmosphere. Every overnight van received croissants and fruit juice breakfast delivered to us, from the owners ! Nice touch, and thanks very much ! Stayed overnight in the camper, Gene was out with fresh eggs when we arrived. Music was good craic and the pints were lovely. Woke up to a tray of plums and a sourdough bread on the step of the camper. Highly recommended. We will be back. love this place! cozy, warm, pleasant atmosphere. I adore the trad sessions, musicians are v welcoming & encouraging, the owner is friendly & plays along too. Even a lil mini set dance sometimes! Love me a thatched cottage! W a nice fireplace, & I was happy to see the mummers straw hats & many heritage traditional items on the walls. Great stuff! I come here every Weds for the trad sesh, makes me happy being there & singing w the locals. On top of this great traditional music, craic & Guinness beside the parking but far enough away for a quiet night. Spent Saturday here and parked the campervan at the back of the pub. The owner is a lovely man who brought us fresh eggs and made us feel very welcome. The bar was packed with both very talented musicians and people like ourselves who were more than happy to listen and enjoy the music. The Guinness is like mothers milk and the atmosphere great craic. A lovely very typical Irish bar, will definitely be back ...
