My most resent visit was as as always. Offee Machine was out of order but the staff worked around this to provide the Americanos ordered. Cakes accompanying were of usual high standard... delicious. We used to love going here pre Covid, great coffee/ treats and the staff really nice, but we went recently ( our first time visiting since the pandemic) I showed my covid cert but the staff didn't even look at it, just told me to 'sign in', anyway, we ordered and went to a table but it wasn't clean, ( it should have been, covid or not) when the order arrived the staff member just wiped the table down with his bare hand! Not good. Update -Dec 21, I had to return, simple because the is possibly the best I've ever had, and it was very good, properly checking covid certs and made sure we used hand sanitizer. This is always my first port of call for a when I am in Carrick-On-Shannon. Joanna who has worked there for 9yrs provides an Exceptional Service & creates a Unique Atmosphere. Food good. Service good. Nice staff. Toilets a mess! Lovely little spot although I wouldn't go here if you wanted food. The is lovely and they also have a nice selection of ice-cream, pastries & treats. Ordered a small takeaway cappuccino. Only one size available despite a smaller cup behind the counter. So forced to buy the large coffee. Was planning to sit for a few minutes to send a work email and was told I could not sit inside or outside with a takeaway and asked to leave. Shocking customer service. Only one person sitting inside and one couple outside. Coffee is ok. No chocolate on top of the cappuccino, the only I reason I ordered it for the sweetness. Maybe an off day for making the but the customer service was appalling. Peaceful and quiet place. Best cup of tea we have had… maybe anywhere… ever. Superb tea. is also excellent and best we had while in the West.
