This is historic and considered to be the largest wooden in France and open from 2pm to 7pm daily (closed on Tuesdays). It is found along Ave. de la République where Parc du Champ de Mars meets with Place Rapp. We stopped by and really enjoyed watching the make its turns with happy children and families enjoying slow, music filled rides. The is beautifully adorned with turn of the century Art Nouveau decor and really neat to see as part of visits to Colmar. Wunderschönes Karussell. Sehr schön gemacht. Die Kinder lieben es Beautiful old (from 1900!) with amazing details and lovely paintings. Nice staff. This is located in a corner of the park Champ-de-Mars in Colmar. According to several sources, it is the largest of its kind in Europe. The has a diameter of 16 meters and a height of 11 meters; the total weight is 38 tons. The outside of the is decorated with reproductions of paintings by Toulouse Lautrec and scenic pictures of the old Colmar. It has 80 seats, 30 of them are horses. Because the whole is covered behind glass windows it is operational all year round. In the rear side of the structure there is a food stand where you can buy fresh crêpes and other sweet snacks. Nice place to visit with kids. Recommended Présent depuis des années, depuis mon enfance et très réputé pour ses gaufres légère et fondante ! Gaufre super bueno, chantilly+ un café c'est mhhhh !! Merci a La famille D. Sehr schönes Karussel direkt in einem grossen Park. Mehrfahrtenkarte möglich. Einzelfahrt 2.50 Drei Fahrten 5 Euro Very nice and pleasant area. All family enjoyed it. This is a very well maintained almost historical huge carrousel. The prices are fair, and the rides last quite long. Totally worth the money. Cool carousel, some of the seats spin when you turn the wheel. 8 euros per person… even for my 12 month old baby. I am giving four stars because staff were not very friendly. A beautiful carrouesl the likes you don't see anymore. This is a place that brings history back to life. Great old Très beaux je l'ai connu y a 20 ans indémodables aller même les adultes Gaufres, Chouros toujours aussi excellents. Very delightful, charming, beautifully restored, clean and colourful historic with many different seat styles for littles in a range of sizes, so even smaller toddlers can sit alone safely in little airplanes. It also has two levels, with another set up some stairs. There is chair seating dotted inside the structure, so people can sit down while watching their little one. The models are bright but not garish, detailed and reminiscent of sweet victorian era illustrations, vehicles both road and air, animals and nothing grotesque/strange. Wheels inside vehicles turn. Very innocently transportative for the young imagination. Music is gentle and happy, not thumping fairground or crazy Wurlitzer (which has it’s place!). Service was also efficient and friendly. Pricing is surprisingly reasonable at 2 CHF a ride, with the child given a little toy token to hand to the operative like they are making the payment themselves once on their seat. My toddler absolutely loved it! Beau parc Et très bien pour les enfants The is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen Super My first interaction with a French person was a poor one and it was here. The staff was rude regarding our GB Pockit stroller. For those not familiar, this stroller folds down and has straps to be a backpack, and is small enough to be a carry on luggage and fit in an overhead on a plane. I fold it down and went to throw it on my back and they refused to let me in with my “buggy”. I told them it’s a backpack, and that I have a backpack bag it can go in, but they refused to let me be inside with it folded down. I instead had to leave it outside in the rain. We returned again the next evening to use our last remaining tickets and as we approached, 10 minutes before closing, they shut the lights off and shut down for the evening. My 3 year old daughter was very upset as we leave on the train in the morning. It’s a beautiful carousel, but staffed poorly.
