Ever since Mardyke Street has been given a facelift I had been meaning to pop into the pub, which has also got a glow up. You can clearly see that there are some regulars who feel very much at home there. I quite like the decor, there is a TV for those who don't want to miss the football/rugby matches. A good Guinness and a few chats, a nice evening. Friendly pub. Wine selection not the best. Clean, small beer garden smoking area out back. Grand for a quick drink. It looked inviting from the outside, but as soon as I entered inside, the sense of approachability diminished when a regular started to act erratic and passive-aggressive with me for no apparent reason; the locals were loud and vulgar; the only positive aspect of the pub was the door leading out. Avoid this cesspool. Great little pub with friendly staff and a great pint. If you your staying in the Sheraton drop in you'll get served a lot quicker and with a smile. Had a good craic the last two days there, staff was 100% especially Darren, such a good man, that’s how you want to enjoy being at an Irish pub ! Charming pub in the middle of Ireland.
