We had some time left on that day and checked out this bridge. And it was more impressive than we thought. Of course the Golden Gate comes right to mind. It looks the part when you stand on the hill on the northern end. But unlike the Golden Gate this one wasn't half covered in fog when we visited. It almost has the same length as the counterpart, but this one here was built not long ago: back in 1997. It was a nice early evening and the views very nice. You can park right at the end of the bridge. Lots of parking space available. Restaurants, shops and a Hotel are located here, as well as some bathrooms. If you bring a bit of time you can take a seat at one of the picknick tables with spectacular views over the and water. Even during night pass it’s making tremendous impression. Size and view makes Hoga Custen place which you need to take detour to see and admire ;-). You will not regret time to get to it! It’s highly recommended to take time during a day and walk down the hill to base of the to see it from different perspective. Beautiful that shortens your trip considerably traveling north or south on the E4 along the sea of Bothnia. What you gain in time you should really spend at the northern fundament of the where you can admire its construction as well as the estuary of the Ångerman river. Well worth stopping to admire Sweden's longest suspension bridge. There's a rest area which you can access from both sides of the E4. There's loads of parking, some EV charging, and a hotel with a cafe. There's also a gift shop selling souvenirs, and we saw signs for different walking trails and disc golf. The is impressive. Очень красиво. 👍 Bridge facts: Concrete in pylons and abutments: 40,000 m³ Steel in the deck: 14,000 tons Steel wire in the cables: 8,500 tons Earth excavation: 50,000 m³ Rock excavation: 20,000 m³ Cost: SEK 1.1 billion Reinforcement: 4,000 tons Total length: 1,800 m Clearance height: 40 m Bridge width: 17.8 m Span between pylons: 1,210 m Surface treatment/painting: 60,000 m² There was a view point under the bridge. Parking was available there and after that you have to go through the forest by walk. After that you will enter a paradise which has amazing view from it under. Look at my photos. We spend there six hours and still wanted to stay there. There was a notice that mentioned there is a cable for 50m bothe sides. Water was crystal clear. This place has the most cleanest water I have ever seen in Sweden. A good place to BBQ party but there was no machine. There wasn't any seating area also but has lot of stones and rocky area so you may not need them. Lot's of flys and bugs were there. But still worth to see because view was that much amazing. I will go back there. It's a beautiful and even though you can't walk on the there is a mountain/hill that you can drive up on and just sit, take pictures and rest. Amazing place, the Swedish San Francisco.
