A great place to along the and let the world go by, my starting point Ferry pub, ( after a swift pint) cross over the road, down some steps, threw a little alley way and your onto Bell Rope meadow, where lovely boats are moored, carry on and your onto Cookham moor, lots of open space, beautiful houses along front, continue walking, cows grazing, further along you come to The Bounty pub and Cookham Marsh Fantastic views from the top of Winterhill And equally great views along the Thames Lovely village and calm, serene and beautiful moors by the river. Great for a (with/without a dog) Great open space for a Dog walk. Surprised parking is charged. Although NT members park for free. Not sure how to pay and display national trust membership. A beautiful piece of green in the village. With lots of history. The war memorial has the Tarry stone / cookham stone encorporated into it. Which is an old stone from AD1500 which used to formally be the boundary line of the old abbot of Cirencester. As well as where people gathered in 1507 to do sports for assumption day. It's such a lovely place. With lots of old houses and it's at the end of the high street which has lots of lovely old shops and a nice little coffee shop. There is also public toilet's by the Stanley museum at the top of the high street. Fantastic along the Thames for all ages young and old Many walkways to choose from Quiet Lots of wildlife and leaping squirrels Great place for and seeing nature. Well maintained with plenty to see and hear. Very nice area for the dog. Nice place to but tiny car park. Cookham Commons has a public footpath to lovely Cookham village. That village is like it came out from a fairytale. We have lost sense of time while through - it was more than 3 hours when we took a look to our watches!
