This place is definitely worth a visit if you are hiking up to the bridge or just passing by. It is simply fantastic how they manage to prepare such great food at this altitude. We spent half a day here just admiring the glacier and the surrounding mountains. This is a mixed review. We were through hiking the Haute Route. We arrived in time for lunch and the service was great as was the food. Very nice. Spectacular deck and view. Overall, the service was great all along. It was dinner and breakfast where I am scoring this hut down. After such a good quality lunch, dinner was very poor. It was as if they switched chefs. I was very disappointed. Breakfast was the same. It was typical European but lacked many options other huts offered. Instant coffee, one cereal, no eggs. Good beer on tap. Great little pastries as well. We had a 6-person dorm and it was okay. Not charging port in the room. But a small shelf for storing personal items. Lots of hangers in the dorm. There was a 3/4 barrier between sleepers which was helpful, but I don’t understand why the barrier wasn’t full-length. Two toilets for women, two for men. Two showers for everyone. Good boot storage room. Good mountain hut. Top views on the Haute route, and an Ibex wandered by! They were able to accommodate vegan dinner at half-board which was awesome The best mountain hut on the haute route. It has kept its charm of a hut where everyone gets together for food wine and a song. It doesn’t feel like a money making hut like some others. Absolutely loved our stay and the location/views are amazing. Definitely book to stay here! One of our favorite huts! They have stunning views, and a great deck with modern furniture. And showers available for an extra fee, with warm water! We lucked out and got a room to ourself. Most of the rooms are sardine bunk style. The hosts were very attentive and sweet! Unfortunately there is NO free drinkable available in the hut (or anywhere on the trail/Europaweg since Grachen). When asking for in the hut (during dinner) they give you bottles but charge you 4 CHF without telling. Also if you want to refill your for the next day hike, you need to pay or take the 'non drinkable' from the sanitary. Stopped just for a short break to have a liquid. Was greeted with amazing smile and warm energy from a lady with hair of colour blond. Such a good mood builder.
