The beaches are nice, and there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and activities to keep you busy. However, it does feel very touristy, and prices are higher than in other parts of Bulgaria. If you’re after an authentic experience, this isn’t really the place for it. To truly see what Bulgaria has to offer, I’d highly recommend venturing beyond the resort. Places like Varna, Balchik, or even inland towns like Veliko Tarnovo offer a much more genuine and rich experience of Bulgarian culture, history, and local life. The real charm of the country lies outside the big tourist hubs. Golden Sands is fine for a fun, easygoing holiday, but don’t let it be your only impression of Bulgaria! Such a nice clean beach!
