Great Discovery. The artifacts displayed in this could be slightly more organized but overall it was very interesting. I recommend to go there when the weather is good and there is no rain. There are plenty of things to check - Ideal place for history buffs. There is also a German restaurant on the site. The entrance fee (10 Euros / discounts for kids) are reasonable in my opinion. One can spend at least 1h30- 2h00 here. Nice museum,a lot of findings in 50 years recearch. Great of past generations living and working in Germany Very investing of rural and domestic life. Plenty to see, make sure you give yourself a couple of hours for a visit Nice place to spend a few hours. A trip back in to history! Loved this museum, a lot of old stuff. Realy going back to the early to mid 1900 years. We are a group of 5, youngest 3 and oldest 82. Must say with a stroller for the oldest it is okay to do, just remeber it is not flat, the old village which is nice has some elevated roads which are hard. But for fit people no props. Realy good restaurant with great food and drinks. Thanks for having us 🙏 A great place to check out the past :) beautiful homes/ barns/ stores/ post office and a school. Only 7€/ adult and it’s a lovely stroll around. Lots of older items that are just placed about, but you can go into and explore each of the buildings! We spent about an hour and a half here and it was a nice experience. I recommend brining some water, as the restaurant may be closed and there’s isn’t another place to purchase water. Very interesting but better labelling would help. The shop was disappointing. We have visited this twice now, first as a couple and last week with the grandchildren. We really like the place and our granddaughter aged 5 loved it. We enjoyed visiting the houses from different places in yesteryear and we explained how people used to live to our granddaughter. We had a picnic lunch. There are plenty of places available for this purpose and also a very inviting restaurant and beer garden-for next time! There is a play park for children which our grandchildren enjoyed. After that we visited the indoor exhibition of everyday items from the past. The is very varied and extensive. There are sections on agricultural practice in the past as well as an old café-bar, old shops and even a dentist’s practice! It is great for grandparents to be able to explain things to young children. There are also toys from the past and a massive of toy soldiers. The is probably too big and a bit of careful curation might be needed. There is also the question of access. The indoor exhibition is not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The number of steps also poses a problem for people who have some mobility problems. I wonder if they sold part of the they could perhaps use the money raised to modernise the displays and make it more access? If it is just left as it is, it will struggle to attract visitors which would be a pity as it is a good collection. I would definitely return for a third visit!
