A little place for a wonder, lots of huts (although currently some are scattered accross the car due to the high tide back in Feb). The little has a tidal paddling which is for the little people, there is also a boating lake and Lido further down the road, as well as a walk along the sea wall. Lovely day out, beach, safe places to swim, couple of food / drink places, play area, walks, parking is free along in the road or there is a pay and display car at the end, would definitely recommend Lovely sandy with a tidal pool, great for to play and go paddling in safety. As the tide comes in there is an opportunity to throw a crabbing line over the railings. The tidal is only a foot or two deep, and the sand is a bit silty, but that's no issue for the kids. Two big carparks serve the area, so there is never an issue parking. Clean and toilets in the carpark, plus a cafe van up by the tower are all useful on a day trip. If the tide is high it's a great spot to watch waves engulf the walkway and tidal pool, even better if that coincides with one of the stunning sunsets over Mersea Island and Batemans Tower. Pretty little huts line the promonade from this and towards the Marina. It's our easiest to reach seaside and back day trip. is ok - lovely walk along prom. First time here & we found it to be a quiet place with the most amount of huts we have ever seen in one place. It has a Lido, which you don't see many of these days, which looked well maintained. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the feel, the looks and the warmth of Brightlingsea Beach. There is plenty to see and do, from the it is a short walk to the centre of town. Personally I was taken by the huts, houses. So much love has gone in to personalising and maintaining these structures. It was a hot weather for a week and We visited this during week days to enjoy the breeze and the sun. It’s 2 hours drive from London. There’s a cottages around, toilets are at the car park. It’s a sandy beach, for kids, a foot deep maybe? And if you want to swim there’s a beach, muddy but I don’t mind, me and My kid enjoyed it. A bit of stones so just extra careful needed. I saw some people doing crabbing. There’s a small coffee shop with refreshments which makes very coffee. Parking spaces is and there’s a ramp for wheelchair users. Also there’s a play ground and opposite to the parking there’s a skateboard park. On our way to the we also pass a Lido. I thinks there’s more to explore but We run out of time. Great for crab fishing. Beautiful place for the little ones. Definitely recommend Brightlingsea is a backwater that's a bit frayed around the edges but still has plenty to offer in these Covid afflicted times. The has plenty to amuse for free.You can go crabbing, kite flying and paddle in the sea water which has it's own beach. The toilets have been refurbished so are clean and fresh. Open air showers are available along with taps for fresh water. The lido is currently closed but work on it is underway. The boating lake is also shut due to restrictions along with the little museum but the place has a certain charm and I'd visit again. There's a thriving boating community in the marina and a pleasant picnic facilities near the beach. You need decent weather as rainy day activities are in short supply. It however offers a day out without the need to spend a fortune. Osm Has everything you need for a lovely family day out, beach, can do crabbing, theres a massive field with exercise equipment and to have picnics on, there's a newly refurbished park, a beach, outdoor swimming pool, lake with ducks,and theres a mobile cafe with ice cream and coffee. Plenty of parking which isn't to high priced. It's one of my favourite places to go. Disappointed that there is not much to do Rubbish beach, actually there's no beach.. Just a little bit of sand and the paddling pool.
