Seven Hills National Forest is a location to spend time. Here you can find amazing nature and beautiful historical places. The trails are clean and well-marked. Parking: available [close to the Tourist Post] Playground: available Access to: a/Castelo de Tomar b/Fonte da Gruta c/Convento de Cristo d/Cadeira d'El Rei e/Charolinha dos Sete Montes f/Aqueduto (part of it). Such a set in this fantastic and historic town ,to enter the you go through a massive set of gates hinged on ivy covered stone/concrete pillars , the immediate area through the centre is a series of well manicured and maintained floral beds set in a maize of small bush boundaries. That leads to a higher open level grassed area then to another level of kids play area and a cafe . All around this area are trails leading up and around the forest for countryside walks through the forest and leading to several view points . This is a to visit and I thoroughly recommend you do . Beautiful with a fantastic trail around it and the central garden. along the aqueduct on one side and then great views of the woods and castle and convent from the other side. Very serene with plenty of big trees along the path to enjoy. It is a very Park, unusual for such a small town. It’s really hilly but offers very nice scenery along the walks. Most interesting, the walks are all in the shade and it gets you real fresh feeling from the hot sun. place . to the top and there's a giant swing over looking tomar with great views . Wished they would look after the garden more often A great place to visit if you have the time. Many trails in beautiful wood land that take you to different view points as well as some templar secrets such as the Charolina and a small cave, as well a big swing with a view. Also there is a good way to go to the castle and/or the convent. One trail goes beside the aqueduct and a small dam called Kings chair. At that point there is a tunnel for those interested in cave exploring. Close to the entrance there is a playground for children and toilets. Also a visitor center, where you can get a map with the different trails. Nice park/forest just beneath the convento. Playground for kids that looked new. You can for miles, good directions Very good for long walks/jogg. It has a kids playgound and ver long routes to arround the and near the Castle. Closes the gates at 16 or 17h. It's not a national forest but a garden, gate on the edge of town (east side of garden) opens at 830am. No charge to get in. You can do a truly amazing nature just below/ around the castle walls. You could change the time in google map if the is closed. It would save us the trip and time. I was really looking forward to see this and then this notice surprised me. Espaço enorme para passear e respirar ar puro Encontramos o guardião do parque A walk. We will go back to see more. My dog enjoyed the too. Attention arrivé sur place parc fermé pour risque d incendie nous nous somme rabattu sur d autre visite Lindo🦋💚 You can do a truly amazing nature just below/ around the castle walls. The time we were there there was a bio market over the garden and the best part was Pao de queijo so far. The track was well maintained and with good sign posts. I loved the swing at the lookout. It’s always an amazing place to go for a in the woods. The is well looked after and the trails are clean and well-marked.
