The food was exceptional, very nicely served, mixed tastes, which are not usual. The soup was also good. The restaurant is very in an industrial building. The meat was excellent, it was exactly as medium as I ordered, but I didn't like the fries with this food, american potatoes or something else would fit better, even though the cheese was very salty, so at the end of food I felt very salty from the food. So next time please add less salt and it would be great. What was bad is that you can't reserve a table during the day and the staff could be more polite. Because we were told at least three times that some reservation will come and we need to leave 15 minutes before it, which we perfectly understood, but it is not only on us how long we will wait for the food. At the final we finished 30 minutes before reservation. Surprisingly quiet, considering it is such a popular place to eat and chat with a friend. Food was well prepared, nicely presented, and spiced to perfection. I had orecchiete pasta with spicy tomato based sauce and shrimp - absolutely yummy 😋. My friend had tacos Al pastor - also great. The highlight for that dish was a fresh cilantro, which is a must for me, but less commonly used that you'd expect in Slovakia. We also shared Beef Tartar as an appetizer and it was great. I did not even miss the customary clove garlic to rub on the toast. The servers were super young, but polite, fast, and accommodating. A little more training would help to achieve true professional demeanor - I overheard a server deprecating comment relating to people who chose to eat their steak well done. For one, it definitely is not her business, and it is inappropriate for a server to judge guests' (past or present) choices and discuss them with other guests. The inside atmosphere is and airy. We sat on the outdoor patio and despite it being close to the street traffic, it was great. 4.8 out of 5 on my first visit. My particular dish was but I wouldn't say it was fantastic. However, I would need to return & try other dishes before making up my mind. Presentation of the food, however, was excellent and the portions very good. I had an extremely tasty latte. The interior design of the restaurant (and whole building in general) is excellent. Very much to my liking (industrial, minimal & modern) and thus the vibe it creates, as well as the type of people it attracts, makes you feel like you could be in another major city (London, Vienna, Prague etc...). Service by the staff was average. Not bad and equally nothing special. Maybe more training is required here. Overall a pleasant experience and a place I would easily recommend. I will return. place to pay a visit! We have visited 2 days in a row and have to say it's was awesome! Freshly prepared food and served with simple and looking garnish. Definitely, we will be back for more food and drinks experience. ( Visited during covid-19 restriction so only been able to have taken away) Loved the atmosphere! The art around is just beautiful, personel was speaking English and they were very nice. We ordered poached bread and another dish with bread. Both slices of bread tasted somewhat sweat, which we didn't love, but it was ok. On the table, there was a set of cards to help conversation. The questions are quite deep...so if you are on a first date, I wouldn't suggest starting with those. I would go back. I heard a lot of things and was excited to visit. The soup was great, but the pork special was a bit dry! Also, the first time I had espresso and tonic - very nice. I went to the place because we saw that was rated with 4.7. Also in youtube and in some articles in internet appear as one of the best restaurants in Kosice, but what a dissapointment. My experience started with a glass of blueberries soda and mint, not bad to be honest, you will find 3 blueberries, blueberries syrup and mint (worn glass), then I ordered "burrata" salad and tacos al pastor. I will start with the taco, if you are Mexican or latin please don't make the mistake, the portion is not bad but almost no flavor, the meat was completely dry. However the worse was the burrata, if you have never tried burrata in your life you could just say that you will never eat burrata anymore but if you did you will just cry when you see that the burrata was just a cheap mozarella from Lidl, no creamy at all one thing to mention was in the salad was the grilled peach. I just have to say that this place is completely overrated you will pay for the atmosphere and then go out completely unhappy. the food was definitely amazing and the restaurant is beautiful, the conversation starter cards are a touch and the selection of meals is quite unique. will 100% come back when i'm in slovakia food, very impressed with their chicken burger! havent had a delicious one like this in years. The female servers are very polite and speak English! unfortunately cannot say the same for the male server. they allow dogs as well, would visit again for sure 👍🏻 place with service. Food is good, fish was amazing, but the same dish with cheese option instead of fish wasn’t great, and it’s not worth the price. Absolutely amazing eggs benedict! Delicious Mocha as well, what a spot! Bakos Bistro is our must to go, everytime we are in Kosice. Food is delicious, original, diverse. It looks and tastes absolutely perfect. Especially, breakfast. I'm big fan of egg benedict and I would say, they have best egg Benedikt in Slovakia. Order anything and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. We went for the first time, following the amazing reviews. Well, lets just say that reviews are not always provided accurately. Place looks OK nothing special nothink exra dirty nor extra clean. Real negative was an amount of flies that joined us while eating :) Would not say that to see flies close to food is an once per decade event but there are ways how to handle that. Excuses that we had open windows are mediocre at best. I had beef tartar that was OK, again nothing that I feel like "must come back" to have again. Portion was lacking more bread, that might be just my preference. Not really a lot of drinks to choose from, lacking the all favourite Kofola or regular 10° pivko. In overall this place is like political campaign promises a lot delivers half if we lucky. I wish them a lot of clients and full house every time but have to say this is not worth the hype IMHO.
