Beautiful little gem in the heart of the Saffron Walden community. I have been there a few times for my daughter's choir performance, loved the and ambience. Off the beaten track but well worth the trip: a small/medium size concert which is part of a school. Lots of free on-site. sight lines and in the This is an excellent modern concert with good seating and sightlines. The are for music. Backstage is also well-equipped. Outside there is substantial space. This is fantastic venue, I came here for a school concert, the are great, the seating is comfortable and well laid out, the staff are helpful and the bar is well stocked and service is quick even with a full venue. I would highly recommend. There is ample, free parking, at busier times, you just may have to walk around the school to get a place. It's a 10-15 minute walk from Saffron Walden town. A fantastic venue, very clean, easy to find. Good toilets, are comfy, not much leg room near the glass barrier on the top but other than that it was great. Bar was very expensive, 5.50 for half a pint of cider. Other than that it was excellent. Welcoming, well run music venue. My first time to Tenebrae concert- fab! Refreshments comprise coffee/tea and modest bar with savoury snacks and cake on offer. No hot snacks available. Plentiful parking. We love this venue. Really eclectic mix of good music. Extremely comfortable and amazing acoustics. Don't go expecting a mega atmosphere, but if chilling out and listening to some acts in a relaxed concert is your thing then I highly recommend. I enjoyed seeing the Britten Sinfonia playing here last night and was pleased that I could afford to do so as a student. Concerts at Saffron do not usually offer a student discount and only for under 25s, so I have previously wanted to attend but not had enough money. I really think that Saffron should consider increasing the age limit for discount, a student discount and a discount for those on a low wage in order to increase accessibility of classical music and diversity of the audience. I understand that funding of the arts is tight but I think that allowing audiences to become less and less diverse will be a disaster. Rather, I think creative ways of funding accessible tickets are possible like last minute tickets and stewarding/volunteering schemes. Plenty of parking, well signposted, amazing facility within a High School. Helpful stewarding volunteers, bar, stalls and help desk. The stage is large and all have a view of the action on stage. I will be coming back regularly. Glen Miller Orchestra concert. Particularly enjoyed Christmas songs at the end. Plenty of space. Will definitely return. It feels as though you are entering a rather upmarket school (which is really what you are doing). But it's a venue. A sensible size, comfortable and a acoustic. And they attract some real star turns. is a bit congested. But it's a lot easier than heading to London! This is the favourite of my friend's and I because of the proximity to our city, Cambridge, they bring the best orchestras, is a bigger stage than what we have at home, the are really good and the organisation of the place is top notch. My friends are more knowledgeable about the qualities I have described since two of them are piano teachers and another one is an advanced piano student. All of them love the venue. About myself, I am in my 3rd year of piano and am in my 2 year of singing and love the place too. The only thing I would like to see improvement is the exit of the car park. It would be nice to have another extra exit. Travelled over 35 miles to the and it didn’t disappoint. We needed a disability space and there were plenty. We had such a warm welcome from the steward, who genuinely seemed pleased to see us. The facilities were as was the and our - plenty of leg room and comfy seats.
