Argyle on tour!! My grandchildren and me have come 300 miles to watch our team at Abbey Road. We came by train and have walked the City and the river Cam. Its all very beautiful......watch out for the crazy cyclists everywhere....they come from all directions!! The is bigger than I expected but it's miles from the city centre. The away end seems to be the most modern but strangely it is quite a way back from the goal mouth. Bizarre. The rest of the is bitty and not aesthetically pleasing. However, their support was even though we outsang them. The tannoy is ineffective and very tinny. They outplayed us and we were beaten 2 nil.....but we were still singing at the end of the match. On to the next match. luck to United...they had plenty of character and tenacity and a defence. 300 miles back to Plymouth tomorrow via London for a few hours.... A well deserved 3-1 victory over Luton town. As an away fan this time I thought the staff were polite and friendly, the food not too over priced and the pitch was in great condition. No excuses for the dismally poor performance from a supposedly bigger team. Well done. Only think I would say is the home fans were very quiet... Great visit to this ground. You have to walk through a field of cows to get to the away stand, they put you in a proper old-fashioned terrace and then let you leave with all three points. If we aren't promoted I'm May, I'll look forward to coming back next season 😀😉 Nice apart from the thick wire posts . Food was ok and reasonably priced Proper old school ground, even with bleachers down one side. Pillars blocked view a little in the away section, but as I said, proper old school, and it was a terrace so easy to move a little to see round them. old floodlights too! It's obvious that the club are really trying to attract families, which is fantastic. Was really disappointed by terrible speed of service for food at half time though. I was there with my 2 daughters, and we left our seats (which were pretty comfortable for plastic seats) but had to leave the food queue without being served as the second half had begun. I really would expect speedy service. Some people near us came back with food 20 mins into the second half. Lovely ground, nice staff and fans The of Cambridge United may be old and small, but it holds an undeniable charm that makes it truly amazing. Despite its age, the atmosphere inside is wonderful, with friendly people adding to the excitement of the game. It's a must-see for any football enthusiast looking for an authentic experience. Additionally, the eatery within the offers food at reasonable prices, and its size accommodates plenty of fans without feeling overcrowded. Overall, a visit to the of Cambridge United promises an enjoyable time for sports fans of all ages. Great little stadium, they have done well with what they available to them. Easy to get around and haven't really come across any fan issues as such. The main reason for only 4 stars is, food and drink, I think the food offering could be better and had issues in the pass with drinks. Been a few years since I last went. Very enjoyable and CU beat Stockport Great atmosphere! Old school ground too! Not many left now. Stewards and staff were very welcoming. Parking was an issue, but there was the park and ride option, which was easy enough. away end plenty of leg room. No obstructions to block your view. Just under 2 miles from the station near enough a straight walk. About 25 minutes. 3800 steps. Food a bit expensive aren’t all football grounds. I was in main stand block F for the friendly vs leicester. The seats are crammed in but they all have very views of the pitch. You are so close to the pitch it is easy to see it all. Where you are all so close too each other it helps make the atmosphere go that extra bit. Parking is a bit manic. Would recommend the park and ride they put in available on their website. Or take a fair walk to get be able tonget out a lot easier Amber and black army.... Have not been to the Abbey for 14 years and it has improved Lovely pint of locally brewed beer before the game No queues to get in although we did queue for our cheesy chips for 10 mins at half time Seats were as was the atmosphere Great improvement- only downside was the U' s performance that was one a half stars at best Overall it was good, with some nice pitch views and AMAZING chips! The toilets were mostly clean with a few scraps but not much. However the signage was poor and we couldn’t find our gate without asking (but we did have the gate furthest away from the main entrance.) Also the Charlton Athletic fans need to shush because after the match ( which they won) they kept singing nonsense for about 10 minutes. O famoso C.U.zão, espero visitar uma partida deles.
