Had a good with my family here - I do feel it is pretty expensive, that is I hadn't been in a while. Also they are quite strict for time. We were a group of 6 adults visiting on a Wednesday evening. None of us had bowled for at least 5 years, most even longer, 15 years was common. I had booked beforehand via phone and was always greeted politely. I had to increase numbers from 5 to 6 people and this was not a problem. We were greeted warmly at Reception and everything explained to us. I had to write each person's name on a card and check box if bumpers required ( none for any of us). We checked footwear was suitable and where to select our balls. The lane was ready for us to use and we were away. We made use of the bar for drinks, and had plenty of room for our coats and bags. We spent a very enjoyable 75 minutes playing one game. A really evening enjoyed by all. Had realised there was so much to do here... meets needs of a varied age range... bowling, crazy golf, soft play... children's parties It's recently had a refresh, and it's worked really well! The pin system has been converted to a wire based system, so far few issues with the pin setting machinery. The ball return mechanism has also been simplified and is much more efficient. It does mean you can only have 6 balls between 2 lanes, so you need to work with your neighbours. The user terminals have been removed, so any issues with scoring need to be taken up with front of house, but that's not a big deal. It all feels very modern and effective now, and the are friendly and helpful! Came here for the first today. A little place and good value for the price. We had lost my daughters ear defenders, she is SEND and struggles with noise and a member took the to find a pair of mechanical ones. This made all the difference because my daughter wouldn't have been able to enjoy herself otherwise, so we really appreciated it. The soft play area was really quiet which again is for us. Overall I'd fully recommend coming here. Polite helpful and a way to kill a few hours. We attended this morning for one game of and to try out the new mini golf. So impressed with the mini golf. A different theme for each hole - 9 holes in total. The Squid game hole had me running through in fear of what was to come - so clever! So much effort has been made to make it unique and full immersive. 100% go back again! We booked ahead of but booked the when there. We played at 11.30am and no one else in there so had it to ourselves :) Lovely atmosphere with some good bowling. Prices for 2 or 3 games are very low and balls and lanes are in good conditions. Fun cartoons for spares, splitters and strikes. UV lights were turned on around 6pm with disco lights as well. Made it dark but that gave it a good environment! For kids there are ball guiders to push balls from and there is a soft play area if they don’t want to join in. There’s also a bar which offers food as well so you can eat whilst bowling. Alcoholic and kids drinks sold at bar at reasonable prices. Very entertaining and a lovely day out with my sister. Would recommend to others. A disappointing evening. Despite advertising that food stopped at 1930, they wouldn’t accept an order at 1915. They then refused us entry with chips from the neighbouring chippy saying that food is available in the venue, so we couldn’t bring our own in. When challenged about the closed kitchen, apparently crisps from behind the bar was sufficient. The duty manager then complained that a child dropped a crisp packet on the floor and proceeded to make a fuss about an innocent mistake. Genuinely, it was not a and I won’t be repeating it. Do yourself a favour and travel to Cambridge or Stevenage instead. are largely friendly. That is a part from one woman who ruined our here. She was rude and petty as soon as we walked through the door - and by the looks of the way this company responds to reviews, the management is no different. What an absolute shambles. Played the new grazy with the family. Highly recommend! Each room is decorated to a different theme and done to a high standard. It looks small but we spent an hour doing the 9 holes. addition to the town Has a really lovely family evening today. Would highly recommend. Next round we will try the new crazy golf. Also all the were really helpful and kind, But one member of stood out for me and my family. Her name is Maddy, she was very kind helpful and very patient. She made our this evening fantastic. Thank you Maddy. Very friendly made us feel welcome however, the building could do with a fresh coat of paint. We had a lovely 👍 Love coming here for some bowling, it’s a atmosphere, better in my opinion than the big chains where customer service is poor and lanes never run on time. Disappointing rude belligerent & unnecessary behaviour from the manager today at a children’s birthday party . I wouldn’t usually complain particularly about a local business however our group spent a lot of money on both food and drink during the party and to be treated like that at the end was not a particularly pleasant .Using H&S policy for not eating a birthday cake on the premises is not adequate enough reason particularly when a knife and candles were offered by for us to use and we previously taken a cake with no problems at all . I understand there is a policy in place on the premises and am not necessarily disagreeing with what was said originally however I feel additional training is required in people management as there was a much better way of dealing with that particular situation .rather than storming out and shouting aggressively at people when they were clearly doing as requested . The behind the bar were lovely and this is in no way aimed at any of them as they did a fab job particularly given how busy it was . The manager however was extremely rude to several members of our party which was unnecessary and has somewhat tainted the for some . Thankfully most of the children were out of the way and did not witness this so it didn’t overshadow their party which was just as well. Not sure I’ll be returning .
