Superb! I went here with some friends to spend a nice Sunday walking in the park in autumn and have lunch. The premises met my expectation after the feedback received from other persons. The location is close to Bucharest, some 25 km (depending from where you came). The entrance was free and a big parking lot is inside the premises. The park is big enough, you can walk aprox 3 km on its alleys. The forest is natural, as the trees growed, no human intervention. Except the forest, you have a lake and some points of attraction ( the chapel, the old tower, etc). Inside the castle, at groundfloor there is the restaurant. food was good, staff was nice. It's pretty ok when Summerwell Festival takes place. It is not too crowded ( when festival is not running) and has some interesting old structures throughout it. A bit overrated. You have to pay an entry fee ( which will be deducted from your restaurant bill if you choose to eat there). Feels like a walk in the park, which you can do for free in any park. Looks like a great location for events though The Stirbey Palace was built between 1855 and 1864 by Barbu Stirbey, the Romanian Landlord. Important figures for modern Romania were often guests of the Stirbey Domain as Regina Maria himself, who spent a lot of time there. Alongside the palace, between 1850-1890, the family chapel was built, containing the tombs of the ruler Barbu Dimitrie Stirbey Voievod, Prince Barbu Alexandru Stirbey and their relatives. From the painting performed in 1890 by Gheorghe Tattarescu, a relative of the Stirbei family, there are only fragments of the Virgin Mary's painting with Jesus, the rest of the paintings and the text "This holy place founded by Voda Barbu Ştirbei and his wife Elisaveta ended their son Alexandru Barbu Ştirbei in 1890 ", being lost. Access to the chapel is made on a monumental ladder consisting of two semicircular ramps, built of Carrara marble. Paid Nice visits sometime ago. Now either closed, either only nu purpose. Still great It's worth going there only if there is an event going on! There is an entry fee: 50 lei which serves as a voucher for the inside restaurant. You could also bring a hammock and chill but you still have to pay the entry fee/voucher. Nice place... there are not many thing to do here except eating at the restaurant/castle and take some pictures here and there or a quick walk... the place is for weddings and other similar events.. if you are looking to explore/visit historical sites this will be a quick tour you will have to take based on your readings which is sad..this are the only structures you will see there: water tower, stirbey castle and stirbey chapel. Not bad but a bit overrated. Vast place, noisy ,not the best smell (burning PETs ).Some maintenance/refurbishment would be welcomed. Beware of drones. Nice black swan. Nice chapel. Keep in mind that a taxi rarely will come from Bucharest to pick you up in the middle of night. Nice location for walk and eat. The price at the entrance ia 50 lei (walk in the park + 50 lei voucher at restaurant) A historical place near Bucharest worth visiting, during the Summer Well festival or any other time. The best thing about it besides the beautiful buildings (a historical mansion, an old church and some pavilions) is the nature. The forest and the lake are a getaway from the busy and noisy city. Acest locație este închisă de către proprietar Închis temporar Una passeggiata piacevole If it would be opened to the public year-round it would be one of the best places for a stroll or a Halloween themed party Went for a festival.
