We arrived hangry and tired having driven round in circles down tight country lanes and even tighter villages. We only looked from a distance for a couple of minutes as we had designated about half an hour to to the rocks, only to find that parking rates started at £4.30, admittedly for four hours, which at the time seemed a rip off. We will visit next time we are there, forewarned is forearmed. Very nice views, quite a steep to the rock above, it is worth it. The rocks themselves are lovely and the up to them is fun, with great views across the moor. The visitors is ok if you want a gift or souvenir, but it has no refreshments at all - not even a bottle of water - which I feel is quite an oversight given its position at the bottom of a steep climb. Make sure to bring your own drinks! Car park and loos with an uphill to a sensational view. Lots of options so can be a short 15 to 20 minutes each way or a much longer one. Just remember the weather can change quickly so be prepared. Very close proximity to Hay Tor. Free public toilets in a reasonable state with good opening hours. Staff as visitor friendly and little shop contains useful things such as OS maps. Haytor Rock - stunning views for miles on a sunny day. Modern parking ticket machine and open toilet facilities even when the visitor is closed. Lovely (but can be windy so bring layers). The quarry is beautiful and worth a wander in that direction. Make sure you like hills if you want to get to the Torr for photos. We really enjoyed our visit to Haytor. The is well-stocked with info and gifts, and the staff there were so friendly, talking us through a walk, which involved stunning and varied landscapes. Highly-recommend a up to Hounds Tor via the medieval village, and then back via Haytor. Love Dartmoor! Excellent. Fair size car park. £3 for 3 hours. Short to the first Tor. Not too busy. Lovely little secluded quarry that is gated. Really nice trip. Visitor had maps and souvenirs. Didn't go into the visitor centre, just climbed up to the tor. Really nice views and not too bad a climb. Loved it the was fantastic 👌 crystal clear water. On point for Nature lovers took me back to my childhood in Yorkshire.Although I live in London now going there felt like 🏡 we enjoyed the water specially stone hopping I think that's what it's called.And at the end we had ice cream from the little shop/ shed looking hut best ginger ice cream 🍦 try the honey guys it's bom.
