The venue was quiet but we still waited a while to be seated, the waitress was very relaxed and happy to tell us how tired she was whilst taking our orders. Once ordered everything came within good time, we were offered condiments and received 2 virtually empty ketchup bottles and then found that the salt was totally empty - BASIC preparation for opening!?! Having finished our meals - all tasty and hot but not really worth more than we were paying with the voucher - our dirty plates remained in front of us for over half an hour. Our waitress was on her break sat behind us on her phone and there wasn't anyone working the room it appeared. Really nice place, been to the Wighton several times, attentive and nice, food good quality and reasonably priced. Recommended What a pub! Nice food, just your average pub grub, nothing too fancy, reasonably priced too, restaurant was clean and tidy, were friendly and good with communication. Gemma the waitress was brilliant. (Signature burger & Sirloin steak for photos) Great food as always! We were a big table of 22, but the food was quick and delicious. The were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, and they made what could have been chaos-an absolute dream! Everyone was great but Megan was a stand out! Thank you! We will be back! We dined this evening and wow the different since Yuri has left. We came in today and wondered why it was so bad. I asked the waitress at the end and asked if Yuri had left. She said yes and I then said it was such a difference. The service this evening was awful. We were a party of 7, everything was slow. We even went to the bar to collect our drinks even though it was table service. No cutlery added after we had starters so we didn’t have any cutlery for our main course. The best person was the male who served our food from the kitchen. I will say the food was amazing - I had 3 courses. The front of house really let the chef down. I also saw a waitress give a dirty Tupperware box with chef stickers all over it to a lady on a table next to us to take her food home?! So unprofessional. We live in walking distance to the wighton and have been going for a very long time. Unfortunately we will not be returning. Booked a slot on a Sunday afternoon with our four legged friend in tow. Had the roast - trio of meats. Lovely gravy and fluffy Yorkshire pudding. Very friendly service. were very receptive to our Staffy, even gave him some meaty treats and crackling! To top it all there was an offer on of a 40% discount on main meals. Win win! All in all a very enjoyable Sunday lunch in a lovely clean, bright pub/restaurant with attentive staff.
