Hiked up here on a crisp morning and honestly, this ruin hits different. The trail isn’t long but gets your heart pumping just enough to make the views feel earned. Standing at the edge of the old stone walls, looking out over the valley and forests far below, it felt like stepping straight into a medieval legend. The itself is mostly walls and fragments, but the atmosphere is what makes it – quiet, powerful, and slightly dangerous with sheer drops right off the edge. No fences, no tourist nonsense, just raw history hanging off a cliff. Sat there for a while, legs dangling over the rock, feeling small in the best way. If you want a place that makes you feel alive and a little wild, this is it. Super nice ruins, but really small so when there are more than 10 people it already gets crowded. There is also a cliff that is unsafe as its not even shielded, any kid could fall dozens of meters down the cliff. We saw some people practicing rapelling and near of it, theres a waterfall Beautiful and Scenic. Parking is available. Free of cost. Good shoes are recommended. Windy at heights, so a light jacket or upper is recommended as well. Interesting place. It is amazing but ruins In a quite good condition. A bit dangerous at winter because nobody clean stairs. Easy walk from the parking lot. Gorgeous views from the cliffs and inside the castle. Easy hike from parking. Definitely worth the quick stop. I thoroughly enjoy walking around this ruin and seeing the panoramic views of the town and countryside below. A short 10 minute drive from Wiesensteig. Very quaint area and beautiful hillsides and rolling farmlands. Not many people so it felt as the place was our own. Schöne Ruine, leider steht nicht mehr viel. Angenehmer, kurzer Weg vom Parkplatz aus, nur 700 Meter Breath taking ruins! Very high and in great condition. There is also a rock climbing area. The surrounding view is astounding and also an easy trip to go with a s/o or the kids. Very close by is also a picnic and grill spot. Schöne Ruine, gut begehbar, von oben hat man eine traumhafte Aussicht. If you park about two clicks away down the road a little there's a great hike to take the kids through the woods.
