A very interesting and vast showcasing the history of Finnish army anti-aircraft from the war tumes until modern days. Many interesting equipment on display and to see. Nice way to spend a summer day! Awesome small museum. It tells the story of the anti aircraft force. Info is available in Finnish, Svedish and English. The staff is very friendly and informative. My sonny was interested in because first of all here is a real story about one of the reasons for the loss of the Winter War - learn from mistakes! And a lot of the recently used and shown items are actively used in military conflicts for now (Libya, Syria, Eastern Ukraine ...). Pleasant personnel. First cafe I've ever seen with cannon inside:) Small anti-aircraft that goes through the history of A-A in Finland. It was great place to visit with my 10yo, who was very interested to see all the exhibits. Took about 2 good to go through everything. You can get really close to all the with some interactive parts too. Nothing fancy as this is kept by volunteers, and it shows in a good home grown kind of way. Lots of historical battlefield relics from world war. Wonderful with lots of unique exhibits! Plenty to see in the different halls, but the best part were the outdoor pieces - guns, drones, missiles, tracking systems... Plus, it has the only Bell Airacobra I've ever seen in real life! Worth a visit when you're close to Helsinki Airport. One of the great military museums in Finland reaching from times before WW2 to present days. Mostly WW2 and Cold War equipment. Fantastic small ! Most info was in Finnish (so may want google translate to get more out of it). Interesting to see an American plane given to the soviets (part of lend lease) marked with the soviet star. Visited this place on 26 May 2023. As a university student studying Electrical Engineering, and a player of a Cold-War era RTS game called Wargame Red Dragon, anti-aircraft technology has always interested me, especially aircraft tracking technology. In this Museum, I got the opportunity to come up close to and admire the different anti-aircraft technologies developed by the USSR, Germany and the UK from WW2 to the 2000s. My personal favorite were the BUK-M1 and the Wuerzburg radar systems (which i learned about in the aforementioned RTS game and a book called "Instruments of Darkness" by Alfred Price respectively). I always wanted to see a real one IRL. It was to my pleasant surprise that this had these exhibits! Do note that many of the outdoor only contain Finnish words. However, with data connection and Google Translate's camera function, this is not an issue. Many indoor (but not all) contain a card with English and Swedish explanation. The whole took me 3 hours to go through. 10/10 recommended for anyone interested in military history and anti-aircraft radar and pre-radar tracking systems. The staff working there were also very friendly and helpful. No reservation was necessary as it was almost empty when I visited. Lots of parking spaces are available. The also has a mini cafe that serves some simple bites and drinks (but not a full meal). Amazing. Has stuff from the kind of rifle Simo Häyhä used to a real p39 Airacobra fighter aircraft and a BK Anti aircraft system.
