Still able to walk up to the gate and have a peek. Picnic area was still 'open'. The pottery is still open, was looking for a nice salt pot and got one there. Spent about 90 minutes here during a day exploring the Briere National Park. It was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a kids quiz trail to do. Almost as good as a trip to the World War 2 bunkers in Hightown. Very well looked after castle. The lady on reception was very helpful. The English guide cards very useful. Thank you for allowing overnight motorhome parking. We enjoyed our visit. Really nice place, and we were lucky to come during some medieval event. Well restored castle with plenty of history. Don't miss the lovely pottery store! A very beautiful kept ruin where u even can see nutrias in the lake around if i have a sharp eye and a very cute dog is there as well Lovely ruined castle, well presented with lovely picnic area. The expositions on site were a fun addition. Staff helpful and pleasant too. The castle very much fits the stereotype of a medieval castle. It's surrounded by a moat and with a drawbridge. Some reviews complained about there are "nothing to see". I think they missed the point. Yes it's a ruin but well preserved and feels very ancient (unlike some places which are overly modernized). There are also in fact interesting things to see such as well preserved symbols sculpted in to the walls Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
