I have been here today, the carp were spawning but still caught some reasonable sized at 8lb. Plenty of crucian and plenty of Ide...this place will be an absolutely top class within 3 years. Loved it, and the staff/owners are really friendly. The place is very well kept and very well set out. I believe a lot of thought has gone into setting this up. OK, we had a club match yesterday and as predicted, this place was absolutely top class! The was superb: every angler caught and had a real day. The owners show real passion in what they do, with a result of a 1st class fishery. I would also like to add, that these guys fully appreciate the condition of the fish, and refreshingly police and enforce the rules. As I understand there are plans to further develop this fishery.... In my opinion, this is absolute news. If I could rate higher than 5 I would! 15/07/2023....this place is still top class! Fabulous A class establishment, well run and well stocked.. sticklers for their rules and will check your gear so don't try it on.... but why would you! Very venue first time fished here won my section 52lb Top venue this Took my son for his first trip here, was met by a lovely gentleman collecting fees, (sorry didn't get his name} who sat with him and set up his line and patiently waited until he got his first fish, after that he caught a rather large carp and was hooked (pardon the pun) will be back next weekend! Me & my son in law called today saturday 8th March 2025, both had never fished before, these poeple especially Neil went out there way to help us, Neil even showed us how to set up, brilliant 1st time experience & although we were on a lodge break we only live about an hour away so definitely will be back, ty guys One of the best fisheries for many a mile. Only one negative could not get to the toilet porter loo because of water levels so had to walk to Newcastle lake. But a way to end our season.
