Stayed here for 2 nights for the first time. The itself was brilliant, everything inside was great. The only few comments would be the knifes in kitchen wasn’t sharp not sure if that was due to safety or anything. Our mattress was too big for the bed frame and wasn’t the best quality. Signal is shocking but in a way that’s a good thing to get away from reality. Location is if you obviously drive there as there is nothing around in walking distance but they do have a little reception/ shop and a pub which we haven’t been to but maybe next time. Overall our was and pleasant. On a side note if you are travelling there in a lowered car good luck 🫣 Very long lane approach to the and drivers need to take it slow or face losing a bumper!! very modern clean and well equipped on initial inspection very happy with things. The mattresses were not very comfortable you could feel the springs. we went for a relaxing mini break and hoped to be able to walk to nearby villages and walk along the riverbank. We discovered the pub was closed so we had to seek pubs where we could eat. The manager did offer to open the pub for us for a drink but we had out own drinks it was food we needed. As we had our little dog with us we checked if dogs were allowed in the local pubs and we found only one pub in the vicinity that served food and allowed dogs. Many of the pubs were closed down or didnt serve food. We had a fab day out in Lincoln which we loved so beautiful and lots to see especially the Cathedral and the Castle. Didnt enjoy Boston so much it was quite run down although St Botulphs was beautiful and the people in there very nice and helpful and let us take our fur baby in. There is a gym on but we didnt use it. Not much else to do so dont imagine its for kids. Unable to find anywhere to eat on our last i resorted to shopping and cooking which isnt usually part of our plans on our annual mini breaks. We enjoyed the hot tub which was and warm and very clean. We had a slight issue with a dripping tap in the kitchen which flooded part of the kitchen, however a member of came to our rescue and got us dried out. Just a few slight changes could have scored the higher. + a bedside light in the single room would have made reading in bed much nicer. + No mattress or Pillow protectors when we stripped the beds with quite unpleasantly stained mattress and pillow + some hooks in the bathroom to hang your clothes while you shower + tidy up around the back of the lodges On a positive note there are plenty of plug sockets, TVs, places to relax inside and out. Gary the manager was very cheerful and did offer us some info. A big plus is its very very peaceful. We booked a last-minute family holiday here and, in hindsight, I wish I had read some of the reviews beforehand. Access to the is via a single full of bumps and potholes. I was glad to be in an SUV, but anyone with a lower car should be cautious. Our (No. 30) was disappointing. There were rips in the flooring, broken blinds, marks on the walls, splash stains near the hob, patched-up shower controls, poor silicone work around the sink, and very messy wiring for the TVs. The hot tub wasn’t filled on arrival, we were only given one sanitising tablet for the whole week, and no daily water checks were carried out. By the end of our it had started to smell. The hot tub also lacked privacy, being directly overlooked by a storage area and workmen’s caravans. Seating cushions were missing too. On our final night, a group of young guests in the next door played extremely loud music late into the evening — the bass was so strong we could feel it through our lodge. This really disrupted what should have been a relaxing last evening. The on-site pub had very limited stock (they ran out of Guinness, Abbot Ale, and even Pepsi during our stay) and only opened in the late afternoons. While we had one decent meal there, much of the food seemed to be frozen. Reception wasn’t open when we left around 9:15am, otherwise we would have shared this feedback in person. Although we made the most of our holiday, unfortunately we wouldn’t choose to here again. Enjoyable 3 for myself and 13 year old daughter and dog! In the middle of nowhere but that wasn’t an issue for us. We enjoyed the quiet and the countryside and the nature surrounding it. It’s definitely a place to get away from it all, hot tub was a bonus. We had an issue with the tub one but as soon as I reported it Gary was straight out to sort it. No issues. Where to start!! The cabin was also filthy and smelt bad, with cobwebs covered in dust and a layer of dust on most things. The bed mattress was completely past its sell by date with each individual spring pressing onto your body making it impossible to get comfy The hot tub looked murky and the decking was covered in dead leaves and food bits. Windows also covered in dusty cobwebs.. Then there’s the pub,, Possibly the dirtiest place I have ever been to, Dirty stained and hair covered seats, The tables were sticky and you could only just see through the windows. Grime and dirt everywhere. Outside the pub there is an “outdoor area. But it looks unfinished, and most people seemed to be there just to smoke. The barman didn’t seem to know what he was selling, and did not have a professional manor about him. At there is supposed to be a”no noise after 10.00 pm, but no one seemed to adhere to this, kids shouting ,, parents shouting, dogs barking and the smell of cigarette smoke if you dared open the windows, ( which you didn’t want to do because of the noise. I really don’t know how the place is staying open. AVOID!!!’ When we first arrived at Cabin 18, we immediately noticed massive cracks and holes in the walls, along with soft spots and cracks in the flooring, so we took photos straight away. There was also a strong smell of stale cigarettes throughout the cabin. Upon entering the main bedroom, there were muddy paw prints all over the bed (we don’t have a dog). We called Gary, who sent someone quickly to rectify the bedding. We then went into the smaller bedroom, where my 5-year-old would be sleeping, and found two cups full of juice still left on the windowsill. It was as if the cleaners hadn’t even been in. There was dust and filth all over the walls, resembling the state of a rugby club changing room. We arrived quite late, around 7:30 pm, so we felt we had no choice but to the as we had travelled 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there. We tried the hot tub, but the top cover was broken and split. The hot tub started off warm, but the jets didn’t work, and the filter was filthy. Judging by the state of the cabin, it seemed maintenance on the hot tub was out of the question anyway. The hot tub then stopped working altogether after around five minutes. The beds are cheap spring mattresses, so if you suffer from a bad back, good luck—it would have been more comfortable to sleep in the car. There was also a large red chair with exposed staples sticking out of it, and I nearly cut myself getting up. All in all, this is the worst cabin we have ever stayed in, and I would strongly suggest you read my review and others before putting money in the owner’s pocket. If you want to replicate our experience, just visit your local prison, as I would imagine the conditions would be of a higher standard than this disgusting cabin. Me my partner and daughter have just come back from here today. Fantastic place the are nothing too much from the cleaning to the bar to the manager of the whole site. Hottubs are secluded as part of the which is great. are reasonably sized we had plenty of room for the three of us. Food in pub is decent. There is also a lot of stuff for children to do from a woodwork park to seaside huts for activities and games. There is also a selection of things for children to do in the bar connect 4. Bouncy castle. Just had a 4 at the Hideaway and had a time. I went with my husband and daughter so even though it wasn't the biggest place we have stayed at it did us fine. It was in a remote location so was very peaceful and was about half an hour drive to different places we visited while we were there and was to relax in the hot tub when we came home. The were very friendly in the pub and also the people who ran the site... DO NOT HERE — I genuinely mean this. We stayed in 29, but it was clear all the lodges had the same issues. Windows were filthy upon arrival and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Leaves covered the decking as if it were autumn — this was mid-July. Outdoor seating had only one cushion. One of the main doors didn’t even lock. We also had a midge infestation, both inside and outside the (we’ve included pictures below). It seemed to be worse in the lodges that face the field. Upon inspecting the lodge, we found a wet curtain in the washing machine — it hadn’t even been hung up. Someone came by later that after we reported it, but after a frustrating and dismissive conversation, he left without hanging the curtain. The next evening, after using the hot tub throughout the day, we heard a loud bang, and shortly after, the hot tub cut out. We called again, and a maintenance worker came out — his attitude was completely unacceptable. When we showed him that the control panel wasn’t screwed shut and that wires were exposed and getting wet, he claimed that this was normal and even said the wires were “meant to be like that.” He rolled his eyes repeatedly, refused to listen to our concerns, and tried to walk away mid-discussion. This was a clear safety hazard and should have been handled by someone qualified. He mentioned that he and his partner — the owner of the — live above the on-site pub. Earlier that day, we also saw him drinking at the bar with her while he should have been working. This is unsafe, poorly maintained, and run unprofessionally. Our experience was a disaster from start to finish. Do not here. It completely ruined my mum’s birthday. Just arrived back from a time here. Upon arrival we had a few issues BUT the team went above and beyond to resolve these issues. Don’t know why people complain about the into the place, it’s in the middle of nowhere and isn’t as bad as people make out. Every member of were friendly, the was clean, maybe bring a your own cookware (which we did) but I’m sure if we asked we would have got! We enjoyed it that much that we booked on an extra night, very late in the day when the reception was closed but once again the went above and beyond to accommodate us. There is an outside pool about 20 minutes away which the kids loved. Thankyou so much, and we WILL be back. We stayed at The Hideaway during half term with our grand children. The kids had an amazing time in the hot tub, it was immaculately clean. The itself was clean, cosy and had all we needed to cook. Beds are not great, we didn’t lose any sleep though. The were very friendly and helpful. The on pub was very welcoming, a bit like popping to your local. We will return in the summertime to take advantage of the riverside walk. Thank you all for making us feel at home. I recently stayed at Whitehorse Holiday Park, Lincolnshire, booked through Wowcher, and unfortunately the experience didn’t live up to expectations. We didn’t receive the prosecco or chocolates advertised with the voucher, and the could have been much cleaner — there were multiple spiders and cobwebs on arrival, the toilet had an unpleasant smell, and the mattresses were such poor quality you could feel the springs when lying down. Definitely not the “luxury” experience that was advertised. There was also no WiFi available anywhere on-site and no mobile signal at all, meaning we couldn’t even use 4G. The park is located down a long, single-track dirt (around a 15-minute drive) with multiple potholes, which made access difficult. The hot tub didn’t work until the following day, and although we contacted the number provided, the response was unprofessional and unhelpful. The situation was handled poorly and left us feeling uncomfortable — especially as we later realised the same person was working in the on-site pub and made inappropriate comments about our call to the bar as we were leaving, calling us “pricks” for simply asking for help fixing the hot tub we had paid for. The previous night, he had sounded intoxicated on the phone, and this seemed to be confirmed by his condition the following day. While at the pub (which was completely empty on a Saturday evening), we ordered a pizza for £13, only to discover it was just a frozen Chicago Town pizza — something we recognised immediately, as we’ve had the same ones at home for around £2–£3. Worth knowing before ordering. This was meant to be a relaxing trip to celebrate my friend’s birthday, but unfortunately the issues really took away from the experience.
