As tourists, my husband and I felt the Irish pub vibe from its ambiance and furniture. The Fish and Chips were delicious. The fish was cooked beautifully and the chips were crispy, just the way I like it. We also ordered the seafood chowder which was good as well. For whatever reason, I ordered the Thai Chicken Curry Noodle dish. I should have known better. They had the specials on the board but I didn’t choose any of those. I chose the Thai dish and when it was served to me, I regretted it. It was curry yes, with chicken and noodles, but the curry, chicken and the entire dish was bland. I would still come back to this pub and try their other dish. I highly recommend this pub too! This place has amazing food. The service was great, they recommended the right food for what we like and had some good humor. The restaurant has character and we loved the small town feel. Our visit to this wonderful warm and welcoming bistro came on a damp chilly day while in Cong visiting the John Wayne and Maureen O'hara statue. We needed a place to dry off and shake off the chill. The Crowe's Nest was the perfect remedy! Warm and inviting waitstaff seated us quickly and served us a proper pint. We started with soup of the day, which was a beautiful rich vegetable soup served with densebrown bread. This could have been a meal in itself with the complexity of flavors and perfect creamy texture. However, we were fair famished so ordered the fish and chips also. Our visit to the westerly side of Ireland has yielded us several wonderful lunches and the breaded fish and perfectly prepared chips are second to none. Good food.
