On a drive around Lough Derg, called in for a bit to eat. It has a fine choice on the menu with options to customise. What a find, it’s a shame that it wasn’t busy, as places like this really need customers to keep going. I had a nibble before photos were taken. Highly recommend, reasonably priced. Willie and I having been dining in The Snug almost on a weekly basis, for over ten years. What can I say! This speaks for itself. We travel quite a bit, but there is only one Snug. It is a unique secret garden gem. Starters, and all food is simply delicious, yummy, tasty and consistent. The are quite honestly, the best we’ve ever encountered, so, so and helpful. A special applause for Betty here. Alain, the proprietor is a thorough gentleman, a foodie enthusiast, an owner who is is professional but whose main aim is producing high quality artisan food. Food that is priced over reasonably. The ambiance is fantastic, cosmopolitan, friendly, fun with many regular faces, including our own, enjoying this beautifully unique experience. The village of Mountshannon has the most fabulous restaurant in The Snug, which we visit every time we venture to east Clare. The food is nothing short of exceptional and not a potato in sight! From Tapas style starters to fresh imaginative salad based mains to freshly made and desserts it doesn’t miss a trick in dining with a difference. The are always and helpful and make the best Amaretto coffee I have ever had. Would give more than 5 stars if it was possible!
