Based on this being a barn style restaurant, I think the food is decent and the service is pretty good. I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to try this however if you’re in the area then it is worth a try. The outdoor area has different animals(donkeys, pigs, chickens, ducks, etc) that you can look at/pet as well. *It would be a great spot for kids to enjoy a meal and look at the animals. I recently visited Newborn for the very first time. The petting was clean and well maintained, making our visit comfortable and enjoyable. However we had a negative experience at the The Donkey Shed Restaurant, one of the staff whom seems to be the manager was unfriendly, lacked and hospitality. We walked up to the till where there was a menu for drinks, the manager looks at me and said "the drinks are on the menu", basically telling me to go back to me table and read the menu there - we did not receive any menu at the table hence why I walked up to the till to find out what was on the menu. The free tap water was disgusting, I've never tasted such bad tap water ever, it had a strong metallic taste... Cake were overly expensive, ranging around €7 a slice. We ordered an Oreo cheesecake and a chocolate cake. They weren't that nice to be honest. Pigs, goat, chickens, pony - walk around the is a brief walk but nice for kids. Restaurant has all sorts including soft serve ice cream. Free parking. A lovely place with a great connection to nature and organic food, perfect for families and animal lovers. We had a delicious chowder with Guinness bread and a tasty wrap. The service was quick and efficient. We also took the opportunity to buy some organic products the next door, which was a nice bonus. Very enjoyable experience overall! Great spot for the weekend with kids. This place has a boutique coffee (closed Monday-Tuesday), the animal farm, and the shop, where you can get almost everything, including wine. Hidden gem!! Love how this place brings nature right to you, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy. There’s a market with fresh veggies an area wirh animals, and a lovely brunch café. The interiors are amazing, and the outdoor/indoor seating makes it perfect for any weather. Fresh toasties and soup were absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back! Great little farm. The shop.was.full of fresh produce and the vintage looked really cool. Pity the vintage was closed.at 4.30 on a Saturday. Cant wait to go back and have a look around. Great way to kill.a few hours in the cafe, and farm. This place has all the ingredients for a wholesome family day out! With a stroll round the farm, some play time on the tractors, a browse in the vintage store and some 99s to top it off we really had a lovely family day out. We will be back to sample some of the delicious offerings in the cafe. Menu looked very nice and the staff were super friendly!
