I vaguely remember I went to the Star Leisure for the first time in 2000 with my school when I was 10 years old. I've been there about many times. I used to find it entertaining when I was a kid and teenager but now I find it absolutely rubbish. That's why I don't go there anymore. It used to have a fast-food restaurant and the food was nice. It's a shame that they don't have a restaurant anymore. I don't know why they removed the restaurant from the same place. I kinda missed its old look. It can be real waste of money indeed. I missed its old look and I missed the old days of visiting the Star Leisure as well. On Sunday the 28th July 2024, it was my last time to visit the Star Leisure so I am not going there again ever. It's a shame that Dawson's Amusements is now defunct and it has been replaced by car park after its demolition. I used to go to Dawson's when I was a kid and I used to go on the dodgems, ghost train and the roundabout 🎠 as well. It closed down in 2006. Maybe they went into liquidation or there was a dwindling number of visitors. Anyway Dawson's wasn't great for myself either. If you're reading this, avoid the Star Leisure. Go to Bray Bowl or Leisureplex instead. Super nice staff! Lots of rather old school machines, but I prefer them! Would come back!! We spent time playing various coin dropping games and arcade shooters, as well as a fun VR simulator. An older gentleman who I asked to get a prize for my 10 year old Nephew. My Nephew has ADHd and Sensory issues. Without me saying anything this man, gave my nephew all the time in the world, allowed him to test out different prizes for there feel, touch. In minutes my Nephew was telling him his story. His Kindness was everything. My Nephew didn’t stop talking about it for rest of the day. He made our day trip to Bray. Thank you Sir. Used to come here since I was a child. It has changed a lot over the years. But generally there are a good few claw for pulling out cute toys, some coin slots and a casino. The parking would be difficult to find. There’s also a way to redeem your tokens from the game to swap them for a toy or something ( depending on how many tokens ) . Also ATM nearby and plenty food places around it. amazing value for money, really nice and smiling staff. Spotless place, clean rooms, comfy beds, good shower (no electric shower thanks God) :-) Nice breakfast freshly prepared. very close to the main restaurants/pubs in Kinvara, 50 minutes from the Cliffs of Moher we'll definitively visit this place again. The are very friendly and always offer tea and coffee when they are walking around. Some of the managers are there years. Mick and Derek are part of the furniture 😂.
