WELLDONE WELLDONE FOR BRINGING AFRICAN DELICACY TO US Jamie’s Butcher, Kettering: A Cut Above (and Then Some) 🥩🔪🐄 If you think butchers are a thing of the past, then Jamie’s in Kettering is here to set you straight—with a perfectly trimmed joint of beef and a smile. This place isn’t just a butcher’s shop, it’s a meaty institution, where the is friendly, the produce is top notch, and you leave feeling like Sunday lunch has been rescued from the supermarket sadness. The Meat: Proper. Beautiful. Glorious. Jamie doesn’t mess about. Whether you’re after a few rashers of thick-cut back bacon, a full-on rib of beef, or something special for the BBQ, every cut is expertly prepared, locally sourced where possible, and so fresh you half expect it to moo. The sausages are a thing of legend—bursting with flavour, not filler—and the steaks? Oh, the steaks. Marbled to perfection, thick as a phone book, and ready to make you feel like a grill master, even if you’ve only got a frying pan and high hopes. The Service: Old-School in the Best Way Jamie and the team are genuinely passionate about what they do, and it shows. Need advice on cooking times? Done. Want something cut a certain way? Absolutely. Feeling unsure about how to turn a brisket into a dinner masterpiece? Jamie’s got you. It’s the kind of place where they remember your order, your name, and probably your dog’s name too. The Vibe: Friendly, Local, No-Nonsense No flashy gimmicks here—just meat, honest prices, and the kind of butcher banter that makes a morning shop feel like a social event. Whether you’re a seasoned roast wizard or a midweek meal scrambler, Jamie’s makes you feel like you’ve got this. The Verdict: Kettering’s Mecca ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jamie’s Butcher is everything a local butcher should be: expert, approachable, and absolutely stacked with top-tier produce. Five stars—plus a bonus one for the pork and apple sausages that disappeared in record time. Forget the plastic-wrapped stuff—go to Jamie’s, and eat like you mean it. First time visiting, and it was incredible. They have a fantastic range. Clearly, every part of an animal is for sale, which is that nothing is wasted. There were very deals they had going on and really helpful when we couldn't find what we were looking for. Everything was delicious from the steaks to the lemon and thyme meatballs to the biltong to the droëbors. Highly recommend and will definitely be back Bargains galore.. you have too see for yourself but we got a a pack.for 20 quid with a beef joint, chicken, sausages, mince, bacon which saved a fair few quid..and too. Check it out. Could get busy on a Sunday afternoon. But lovely environment, produce that caters for all ethnicity Excellent butchers with a range of meats. The selection varies from traditional to exotic with same South African delicacies available. There is also a very range of standard UK meats. They also do an excellent BBQ range for the warmer months. If is poetry, this butcher is Shakespeare! Nestled in the middle of Kettering town centre, it offers a carnivore’s dream—from perfectly marbled steaks to poultry so fresh it practically clucks. Prices? More reasonable than a vegetarian at a barbecue. Parking? A breeze—because no one likes a dramatic struggle before securing their Boerewors. And the staff? Friendlier than your grandma offering you a second helping. And if that wasn’t enough, there's a taste of Africa right next door, serving up delicious foods from Zimbabwe and South Africa—because deserves company! If you’re after cuts without cutting into your budget, this is the place to be." Massive shoutout to Jamie’s Butchers! 👏 We popped in to grab the last bits we needed for our end of season presentation and they sorted us out perfectly. Super helpful, service, and top-quality produce as always. Very well stocked and butchers. I have been a regular customer for several years now. They provide high products at prices that are highly competitive. Excellent customer service. and customer service. First time shopping at Jamie’s last week and 100% will return, it’s so much better than supermarket and the prices aren’t much different. I would highly recommend Jamie’s butchers! I've used Jamie's (used to be Palmer's) for 3 decades now without any problems at all. When I've requested something not on show, eg a whole lamb or 1/2 a pig etc, they've done their best to supply my needs and at a price that beats alot of online sellers. Being a whole carcass butchers, something of a rarity these days, they know their stuff and will make recommendations or tips. If you're an older person like me, you'll remember "butcher's cuts" and these are always available and fantastic value to feed a family or make a special meal (the gammon hocks are amazing). I'm hoping the online resumes in 2026 and I'm sure it will take off like a rocket again. The African shop next door, brilliant for everything you want including herbs, spices, cookware, fresh goods and frozen, again at amazing value. These 2 places are my go to shops locally, everything you need and staff that truly believe in supplying top knotch produce and with a smile, joke and treat customers like family. For the best value, buy in bulk........ get together with friends and family and split the cost to turn amazing value into exceptional value. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL XXXXX biltong and droëwors! The selection is fantastic. Fresh meat! They have a spice shop 2 doors down with an amazing selection of South African goodies! The best butchery in and around Kettering, Northamptonshire with beef and poultry products. Lovely and friendly staff, always ready to help. You’ve done it Jammie, well done. Gilbert Lovely store where you get all your African food. Friendly and welcoming staff, always smiling. Referred by a friend .I ordered and sausages which were tasty and fresh definitely will continue ordering and referring friends. I’ve been to Jamie’s a few times now, got a Christmas hamper last Christmas which was amazing value and quality. Today popped in for some bbq bits, and have to say it is the best bbq I have ever tasted and for such a price as well. Jamie’s always has a deal and I am always happy to travel here when I know I’m getting such tasty products.
