Oasa is an orthodox located near Oasa Lake and Sureanu Mountains. The is located in a peaceful place, surrounded by forest. The wooden church was initially built in 1943 and it was relocated on the current position before the dam was filled with water. Nice place to find your peace and talk to the Creator. The road is one big challenge. This monastery, located several gravely miles deep into the Romanian forest is open for visitors. Consider selecting an offering from the table right near the entrance though. It's possible to see that almost all of them are under construction and renovation, which is absolutely necessary if we want to keep the world heritage. 🏞️🏛️ The spectacular setting and architecture are simply stunning. Making visiting these monasteries an unforgettable experience 🚻🅿️ Facilities are on site (if you ask) but parking is limited so you might have to leave your vehicle on the gravel track One of my favorite places to visit in Romania. So peaceful! I mostly enjoyed the walk by the lake; we also met some monks shepherds. Nice located very close to Oasa Lake. Worth a ride if you find yourself in the area Thank you for the memorable and beautiful service!! Amazing place filled with special people ❤️ Oaşa is a true oasis up in the Carpathian Mountains. A place not everyone would be able to reach due to the long distance from the main towns as well as the steep roads that lead towards it, Oaşa is a stunning place where you can spend a day or two. The is situated deep into the forests (that sadly we discovered to be heavily deforested by the local authorities) and a beautiful lake. The monastic community is made up of relatively young people who are really friendly if you wish to stay or find out more about their way of life. Strongly recommended. The wooden church in the heart of the is nice to see. Take a walk from the damn. Very beautiful and sombre place. Quiet, different from any I've been to, amazing brick work, stunning location by a large lake surrounded by forests, ample parking, I definetly recommend a visit any time of the year you can. Un loc de vis unde se poate simti prezenta lui Dumnezeu. Simply beautiful! An oasis full of… silence!
