If it were an option, I would rate the EMPLOYEE running the museum at ZERO stars. We tried visiting on 9/20/23 and we were DENIED entrance. We had 14 people in our group and we were denied entrance even though we were in compliance with their posted hours. The woman operating the desk acknowledged that we were there BEFORE the cut-off of 4:30, but still denied our group. We are visiting from the United States and had driven for many hours to the museum. Her reasons for denying us entry: 1. Her boss would be mad if she let us in. (Again, we were there BEFORE their posted cut-off time.) 2. We would not have enough to see everything. (Posted closing is 6 p.m., so we would have had a little over 1 1/2 hours to visit.) None of it made any sense. She refused entry to 14 paying customers that were following the posted hours of operation. Our family members (ranging from 21-80 years of age) very disappointedly and in disbelief of how we were treated, loaded up in 2 vans and drove away asking ourselves these questions: Did the employee want to leave early and took it upon herself to deny us entrance? Had her boss been there, would it have been a different situation? Does her boss understand that she is turning away income for the business? She was rude, would not listen to reason, and none of HER reasons for denying us entry made any sense at all. Very good. Worth visiting. We flew overseas, drove through 2 countries to this museum to learn more about our dad who served in WW2. We arrived at 4:25pm and was told that we could not enter because they stop letting people in at 4:30pm. ??? I thought Germans were good at math. She said her boss must be the meanest guy in the world and would fire her if she let people in an hour before the posted entry time. She said her boss was so cruel and evil that she did not dare let us in. She might not make it through the night if we gained entry. This place was the representation of Germany for our first to the country. I hope this makes Germany proud.
