Wonderful historic spa building right next to the river. There is a museum and a restaurant on the ground floor, we went up to the bar on the first floor and sat outside on the terrace with our dog. The views over the river are terrific and it was superpeaceful. The service was friendly and prompt, we had a lovely time 😍 Great chuletón and wine to match. What a find! Exquisite view. Lovely walks too A great place with an amazing atmosphere Hated the whole experience!!! Really hated it!!! The most pretentious place I have visited in a long time. We were cycling in the area and no bars in Cortegada served food so we looked on Google maps and saw this place. It looked great, with lovely views of the river. When we arrived there were only 2 other customers. I asked if they did bocadillos and the man said they didn't so we just ordered 2 beers. When the girl brought them to the table on the terrace she asked if we wanted anything to eat, we said but you don't do sandwiches; she said but we do tapas and meats and cheeses etc. We said OK. Then she said if we wanted to eat we should move to the area that was already set up; it had better views of the river and was more pleasant. When she presented us with the menu we discovered that all the food was very expensive. But because the view was OK and we are not peasants, we decided to have a couple of the cold plates. On ordering, I was told that my choice, the salchison of mariscos, was not available. Roll my eyes! So we had the anchovies and the meat and cheese plate. Excuse any lack of appreciation on my part, but I have no idea why the anchovies cost €10 and the meat and cheese plate €15. As I ate them, I could only compare the cheese and meat with the €1 value range found in Eroski and any old tin of anchovies. Very basic indeed!! Perhaps it was the artificial laurel leaf on the platter that made it so expensive. With 2 beers, the bill was €31.50. Like I said, I hated the whole experience!!! Pretentious restaurant, rude service. Not coming back ever. Beatiful place full of history and charm. Lovely views to the Miño River from the restaurants' terrace. Excellent food, highly recommended!! A fantastic, beautifully restored place with a restaurant run by Camilo, a friendly and kind host. On the terrace overlooking the Minho River, we enjoyed excellent tapas and delicious food prepared by the incomparable chef Francisca. Great food! Great views!
